Taste: The breadcrumb pork: Ths was really crispy on theoutsude and tgeinside was nic and juicy. The pork was not flat but full f meat and si easy to bite into. But the crust was really crispy.
Stewed pork udon: This udon soup was milky whte but not too thck. It tasted like fish soup with the first spoon but slowly tasted a rich pork soup. Alot of sides on the udon, sweetcorn seaweed and pork. It was a fairly big pot served in a korean size hot pot. So please be careful of burning your hands when eating. They only gave two pieces of the stewed pork which I ersonally thnk it was not enough. The stewed pork was half fat which mrlts into your mouth. It was nicely seasoned and stewed. The meat was soft and tender, tasted bit like japanese roast pork but you could taste more of the pork. The udon itself fantastic!! Nothing out there could beat it! The udon was chewy, not too soft at all which s hard ti get from a non udon specialist shop. I now know why the soup was not too rich as it would take away the light f the udon itself. What was so good was even after having the udon bathing in the hot soup for so long it did not turn to too soft.
Curry beef udon: Do not expect the curry s a curry soup. It is more of a curry sauce on top of the udon. don't get me wrong, it was rather unexpectedly good. Althought some people might findit wierd at first as you are so used to japanese curry on top of rice. I liked the thick curry sauce than a curry watery soup. As tge sauce came with carrots, potatoes, all the usual vegetables that comes with normal japanese curry rice. Got a generous amount of beef that came with the curry but it was nothing special especially compared to the stewed pork in the other udon. The curry sauc itself was sweet with a bit of spiciness which made it less boring! The udon was again great. Nce and chewy!
The strawberry cassis soda: ths was one of the three drinks you could choose from in the set. You ould taste moreof the cassis than the strawberry. The strawberry was only a tint of it. There wasnt alot of air in the soda. But was better than choosing coke. Atleast it was refreshing and seem like a more healthier option.
Breadcrumb Pork cutlet: The first bite was 'WOW' Crispy on outside and tender in the inside. It was very juicy. But after eating a few more bites, it loses its wow factor somehow. it just taste like normal pork cutlet. But the first few bites was so good. makes you want to eat more. the sauce, you need to make yourself with white sesame was not that good. I would rather use other sauce than that with the pork cutlet. The lettuce that came with it was refillable, and I would recommend to eat more of that with the pork cutlet incase you will get a sore throat. But i would remind, that it should be eaten REAL hot, it loses its crispiness after it has turned cold!
Service: I wasn't too sure when i was in the lift heading up to the 7th floor in the plaza. But once i walked in, a guy that looked very busy greeted me and came immediately to the front. I told him i have booked a table then he took me to my table. As i said thank you, he saud no prblem many times. At a busy hour in a busy shop in causeway bay you would be lucky if they even noticed you or looked you in the eyes. He was very patient and was friendly. The lady who took our order was extremel friendly and helpful. At one point we werent sure what we had with our group buy deal and she ncely explained what was provided. Tea was refilled fir us quite often although we haveour drinks in front of us. We used our group buy coupon, and the service was still superb, what more can i ask for?
