Instead of having a pre-flavoured soup base, their soup base is just clear broth, which means that you get to enjoy the raw, cooked taste and texture of the originally raw thin beef slices which are cooked in front of you on your table in the hot clear broth. The clear broth ensures that the flavour is not distorted and that they cannot use low-quality beef, otherwise it will taste terrible. They are a very honest shop. Also, everything--including the drinks--is served in disposable containers, which ensures hygiene, unlike 津津食店 in Kennedy Town, which has improperly washed bowls and plates. The store is little dirty though, but the kitchen is clean. I recommend this restaurant over the disgusting 津津食店 any day. I do not get why that restaurant has high online ratings.

我們二人試了燒豬頸肉法包(迷你)和馬丁王正宗越式法包(小)。光看外表其實有點失望,因為驟眼看只見很多的酸蘿蔔絲和青瓜,郤不見有肉。揭開法包,才見到入面少得可憐的一兩塊肉片,尤其是豬頸肉法包,整個包就只有一小塊肉。
不過吃下去,味道還是不錯的。法包份量頗大,微微烘過但不會太乾或硬得像石頭。酸酸的蘿蔔絲十分開胃,配以其他蔬菜如蕃茄等,感覺新鮮。馬丁王正宗法包的味道獨特,富有越式風味,扎肉、燻蹄、肝醬和酸蘿蔔非常合襯,令人回味。

Just asked the staff if she could add more pate to the banh mi and she claimed 'it's already a lot in the original and you would need to pay more for extra pate' before she even started making the banh mi for me. I am not asking for a lot but I just don't feel they are helpful at all.

I always come here but forget to order the Vegetarian Vietnamese baguette.The last time I was here, I got distracted by the cheese baguette which was damn delicious.Anyway, finally ordered it this time and it was lovely but perhaps a bit too much pickles in ratio to the other ingredients.

A while ago I came here for the Vietnamese baguette and they said there would be a cheese one coming soon.It is finally out so I went there to try it.Although they are famous for the Vietnamese baguette, the baguette they use is possibly the best in my opinion because it is crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle.So with decent cheese, it is a match made in heaven.There are three sizes and I just realized the menu doesn't have English.Mini, half and whole which costs $18, $29 and $55 respe

It is made with buffalo and cheddar cheese.
Anyway, it was so damn good! The baguette was perfectly crisp on the outside with deliciously tasty melted cheese in the middle.

The lady very unwillingly shouted from a distance "what do you want!?" in cantonese. I couldn't hear her properly since their restaurant is open to the busy streets of the western district. She walked up and without surprise, again "what do you want - yiu meh ah!?".

The rest is history, baguette itself was mediocre at best and the experience to go with it ruined everything. I will never set foot in this restaurant again. Thank you Kristen Stewart for your gracious hospitality.

ordered 2 sets of baguette take away, one without pickle but with extra coriander, and the other one is normal with everything. it has been reminded twice over the phone and again at the counter. it ended up with no coriander in both sets. and I went back to ask "it seems like no coriander ", the guy behind the counter with a very bad attitude said "you said no coriander, no pickle". and shouted "give u back some with a paper bag".... it seemed like my fault while he didn't make the right orde

For me, the baguette was good, it was crispy and yeasty and the pickles were sour as they should be.
Every bite had an explosion of flavours and the chilis they put in were hot but it didn't linger.

The only thing I didn't like were the sliced trotters because I just don't like fatty things.

To be honest, I think expats will love this because of the baguettes they use and they are going to launch a cheese and ham one later which I will come back for.

Finished with the lime soda which had a refreshing fizz with a strong lime taste that wasn't too sweet.

是日經過該店,抱著一試心態,點了碗豬頸肉湯河,湯汁勁重魚露味,偏鹹,芽菜欠奉,香葉也只有兩片,整碗湯粉沒有正宗越式風味,店員服務態度也不太友善,相信不會再次光顧。

老實講,係食呢間之前我係從來冇食過越式法包,因為我好怕d包乾爭爭硬掘掘,同埋麻麻地鍾意扎肉之類。今次一試係畀人捉來的,見到可以點半個,就即管試下。 馬丁王正宗越式法包(半個$36)係招牌款式,內有扎肉、腩肉、燻蹄、肝醬、肉鬆、番茄、青瓜、酸蘿蔔絲,非常豐富,如果唔喜歡芫荽,落order時同佢講唔要就得了。材料雖多,但部分味道唔突出,例如肝醬,整體酸酸甜甜,頗為開胃,有肉有蔬菜感覺亦較均衡。個包稍為烤過,微熱,口感脆但唔算好硬,都ok的。想飽肚d,仲有各式撈檬選擇。值得去指數

堅尼地城線開了這麼久,還是頭一次搭呢~ 在香港大學站等待遲大到的朋友時,其實原來這一帶都比我從前工作時熱鬧起來,就在地鐵站對面的商場,還燈火頂盛著~ 好奇又肚餓下,就逛逛~ 才知道原來早前朋友說很有特式的法包在西環開了分店呢!!!! 在這裡看到這家分店確實有點意外,不過在香港大學站一出直行就看到,其實也了解店家的選址~ 我朋友說這裡有點像SUBWAY呢~ 我一直以為這裡只有著名的法包賣,原來還有撈檬粉呢! 而且還有些特式小吃~ 有不是太貴哦~ 小吃十多元便有交易了~ 不過店內只有兩個座位~ 他們多數只做外賣生意 (是越式SUBWAY來著?! ) 先點了這裡的豬肉條做小吃~ 其實有點像德國的小香腸,外層炸得金金黃黃,而且溫度不會太熱,數量也適中呢~ 18元有6條,平均$3一條~ 咬下去中間是空心的,應該是可以用竹簽串著來吃~ 淡淡香茅的味道混著碎豬肉,口感很像日本的獅子卷~ 本來想點這裡的皇牌之選--- 馬丁王正宗越式法包,但係我對扎肉和肝醬的味道有點抗拒,店員卻親切地說可以減的~ 喔~ 很貼心的服務~ 不過我還是選了另一個熱賣中的燒豬頸肉越式法包。賣相不錯呢~ 我很怕很硬的法包,這一個

本來想點這裡的皇牌之選--- 馬丁王正宗越式法包,但係我對扎肉和肝醬的味道有點抗拒,店員卻親切地說可以減的~ 喔~ 很貼心的服務~ 不過我還是選了另一個熱賣中的燒豬頸肉越式法包。

賣相不錯呢~ 我很怕很硬的法包,這一個不是太硬,讓人很有信心咬下去也不會崩牙(嘰嘰~)

材料除了有燒豬頸肉,還有蕃茄、青瓜、酸蘿蔔絲和芫茜,單看畫面已覺得色彩繽紛~ 我吃下第一口時,真的不禁叫出來,呵呵~ 真的好好吃~ (同行朋友說我太誇張~ 因為另一食客吃著撈檬也看著我,他應該是想:有這麼好吃嗎? ^0^) 

本來燒豬頸肉有點漏,但是酸蘿蔔絲卻出奇地與它很夾! 完全帶出那種越式的味道,很有趣呢!!! 要是買這個去上堂或是當早餐,應該很有動力!!!

另外加$14還有特飲呢~ 一場來到,我也不「執輸」,點了一杯生死戀(咸檸+青檸),我覺得蠻好喝~ 沒想到咸檸+青檸那種酸酸咸咸,和我吃的法包很相配~ 而且不會喝後有很飽肚的感覺~

I got the set A sandwich (or maybe B)-- it was the one with pate, Vietnamese sausage, pork, and maybe something else. When I ordered it, they asked whether I wanted cilantro and chili (of course), so I anticipated that perhaps it would be spicy.

Alas, it wasn't spicy. That's fine though. What about the rest of the sandwich? Not very good. As you can see, it largely consists of a pile of pickled carrot, daikon, and cucumber. This mix was insanely sweet. I know there's usually sugar in the pickling marinade for these veggies (I often make my own banh mi), but I have never had a sandwich this sweet outside of an ice cream sandwich.

I just removed more than half of the veggies. What was left? Well, I discovered that the balogne had a really unappetizing texture, like it had been sitting in the air too long and was dried out-- not that I'm claiming that's what happened, that's just what it was like. It also didn't taste all that great. The rest was OK. The baguette was a little stale maybe, but certainly within the bounds of acceptability.

At $35 (if I remember correctly), it's not that I feel ripped off. What I feel is disappointed. I wanted a sandwich place that had good food and was accessible from my office so I could make lunch time more efficient. And I didn't get that.

連日大雨後, 見天氣好番D, 就打算去西環碼頭影下漸消失的天空之鏡.  google map 話塊鏡最近香港大學B出口. 於是就係附近搵食喇.石塘咀唔似得西營盤/堅尼地城咁, 佢仍然係一個比較舊既區. 周圍好多(感覺唔多好既)茶記麵店. 行左個圈, 俾我見到呢間感覺較young同清潔, 以綠色為主既馬丁王越式法包. 門口仲貼左TBB 搵食X團到此一遊既相. 哈哈哈, 冇理由唔試下!!!*馬丁王正宗越式法包* (超讚!!!!)放棄燒豬頸肉要呢款, 全因佢個名....house special喎, 冇理由唔試. 果然冇令我失望法包既皮好脆. 包內柔軟. (完全唔係果種掟食狗既法包!) 雖然食唔到肝醬味, 但係札肉& 燻啼既黑椒味好出好惹味. 厚切蕃茄加大量酸蘿蔔同青瓜令人好開胃兼冇咁dry. 成個combination好夾. 好fresh. 話咁快就食左半條. Perfect for 熱到令人胃口大減既夏天個包好似subway咁, 即叫即製, 係你面前夾~*雞扒撈檬* (有點雷 *0*)友人點既雞扒撈檬有毫不吝嗇既檬粉. 生菜同酸蘿蔔. 只可惜....雞扒冇雞味(雪藏雞)亦冇任何醃料既味.

法包既皮好脆. 包內柔軟. (完全唔係果種掟食狗既法包!) 雖然食唔到肝醬味, 但係札肉& 燻啼既黑椒味好出好惹味. 厚切蕃茄加大量酸蘿蔔同青瓜令人好開胃兼冇咁dry. 成個combination好夾. 好fresh. 話咁快就食左半條. Perfect for 熱到令人胃口大減既夏天

名字搞鬼但link唔到實物- 青檸+鹹檸+七喜. 
唔係話咩特別野. 不過鹹檸整得幾好, 夠味又唔會太鹹. overall 係消暑佳品.

Share Tea旁邊開了一間新店鋪,便是這間越南風味的馬丁王。點了一個燒雞扒懞粉,價錢尚合理。一打開便有有股酸酸的醋味,挺開胃。愛吃酸的我感覺非常好吃,特別是那蘿蔔經過醋的浸泡,口感硬硬的,十分fresh。燒雞扒十分出色,味道入味,配上懞粉很不錯。懞粉有點結實,口感十分好。
