Boston Lobster Bisque Cappuccino Cream,$88,龍蝦湯的質感不太濃稠,入口味道也挺鮮,不會過鹹,但甜度不夠,若湯內能增添些龍蝦肉,喝著口感及味道會更好。

然後是三款意粉,左起的Linguine with Sicilian and Shrimp and Date Tomatoes,$298,Fine Noodles with Sea Urchin Tossed in a Light Lobster Cream,$168及Baked Home-made Tagliolini with Pancetta and Bechamel Sauce,$138。先吃右邊自家製的Tagliolini,意粉跟意大利煙肉輕輕一煮後,再加上以麵粉、牛油、牛奶及忌廉調配成的白汁忌廉汁,然後再焗,焗出來的意粉充滿濃郁的奶香,質感又不會軟腍,帶點咬口,實在好吃。中間的海膽意粉口感同樣還好,但味道就比較遜色,沒有鮮甜的龍蝦味,海膽味道也不太突出。最後的紅蝦意粉,蝦肉軟腍,味道不算十分鮮,醬汁酸酸的,又帶著濃烈的蒜香。整體意粉的質感不錯,烹調時間也控制恰好。

然後是肉類,Grilled New Zealand Scampi,$298及Grilled Free-range Baby Chicken with Lemon、Fresh Thyme & Roasted Garlic。烤蝦的味道也挺鮮,比雞肉的好吃。烤雞肉質雖然嫩口,但胡椒粉味道較重,部份位置也焦燶了,所以吃著有濃烈的焦味。

最後甜品有三款,先是Amico Tiramisu,$58,這個是沒有酒的版本,Mascarpone芝士打得很滑溜,味道不太甜,但個人喜愛帶有酒味更好吃。

Semifreddo with Crispy Chocolate & Mix Berry,$58,Semifreddo口感creamy,味道不太甜,配合底部的朱古力脆脆,感覺還好。但個人就更愛Lemon Tartufata with Raspberry Sauce,這個像忌廉的味道酸甜,檸檬酸香然,吃著把令味蕾清新一點。

整體來說,意粉造得比較好吃,個人亦較為喜愛。而價錢來說,不算太貴,也是合理水平。而餐廳設有VIP房,於除夕或假日預訂房間開派對,20人至40人,每位價錢都是三、四百元,但已經有八道菜及包括原隻任切任吃的巴馬火腿,所以很適合一班朋友前來聚會。

Finally tonight, to celebrate our two good friends’ birthday, we decided to give it a try and booked a day in advance to avoid any last minute walking in on a Friday evening. This place was incidentally discovered by me and my bf on the eve of Christmas day when we were randomly scrolling around Knutsford Terrace trying to find a place for drinks. Finally tonight, to celebrate our two good friends’ birthday, we decided to give it a try and booked a day in advance to avoid any last minute walking in on a Friday evening. Quite different from the feeling when you enter certain really high spending restaurants where they are poshly decorated and that all waiters are in tux and make you feel rigid, the environment of Amico is pleasantly hinted with a bit of mid-century Italian home style as the décor is mostly woody which gives you a homely and relaxing ambience. Plus… I was glad the servers weren’t in tux. The five of us arrived at 7pm and were seated promptly.

The bread basket that came wasn’t bad and as I am a butter freak I immediately smothered the whole rose-shaped black truffle butter on the small piece of bread I picked and it tasted like heaven (mostly because of the butter)! Anyways, I only ate that one small piece as I kept consciously reminding myself that I had to save space for the proper food ahead! And here we go… We ordered two pastas: white truffle and another red shrimp in tomato paste. The manager sliced and sprinkled the white truffle pieces in white gloves in front of us so that we know it’s fresh. Both pastas were excellent I must say and the sauces and seasonings were just about right. For meat, we had grilled scampi (tastes really fresh and sweet and not a bit overcooked), grilled beef tenderloin (quite nice and juicy) and a fiorentina t-bone steak (also quite juicy although I prefer the texture of the tenderloin over it). We also ordered a bottle of red wine as recommended by the manager, price slightly below 400 which we reckon in any event cheaper than each of us getting a glass of house wine. Lastly, as we didn’t take with us any birthday cake, one of my friends privately asked the manager if it’s possible to order a mini cake or even a piece of cake with candle lit but the manager told us that they do not really serve traditional birthday cakes and rather proposed that he ask if the chef could make us a small birthday dessert platter which we agreed. Although we were so stuffed by the time the dessert platter arrived and thus aint now really in a position to judge the quality of the desserts, we did appreciate the thoughtfulness of the manager/chef who made a great night of celebration for my two birthday friends =)

已經有多年沒有外出吃聖誕大餐,說的隨便到尖沙咀走走,還以為要吃炸雞當晚餐,想不到卻有驚喜... 原來有人已訂枱吃飯了。這是一家新開張的意大利餐廳,地方寬敞,裝修雅緻,加上聖誕裝飾和兩位歌者的現場演唱,真的很有氣氛。喝過餐前酒後,第一道是紅蝦配血橙啫哩,清甜的蝦加酸苦的血燈,居然帶出甘香的味道,是一個很好的MARRIAGE。湯一端上來已聞到白松露的香氣,馬鈴薯湯混著半生熟鵪鶉蛋,喝下去反而沒有白松露的味道,鮮嫩雞肝放在一塊小多士上,挺香的。接著是番茄鱸魚雲吞配龍蝦肉,餐廳為不吃魚的某人弄了一個菜餡的,真貼心上主菜前來了個青檸雪葩,酸酸的雪葩混了果皮,清清口,紅莓的造型很可愛吧主菜上場,我們分別要了酥皮多寶魚和杏仁羊柳鴨肝。羊柳做得很好,沒半點膻味,嫰滑羊肉沾滿脆脆的杏仁碎,配上黑松露醬,非常好吃 不知道如果配薄荷醬效果會如何?多寶魚以酥皮包著,也是很特別的做法,鮮甜的魚,不錯甜品是白朱古力慕斯和冧酒提子雪糕,慕斯以薄朱古力片包著,味道倒是有點太甜了,雪糕是我倆最愛的冧酒提子,好吃最後點了焦糖咖啡,香濃的意式咖啡,帶一點焦糖味道,不用下糖已經夠甜味。倒是某人一頓晚餐下來把一整籃麵包食光光了

主菜上場,我們分別要了酥皮多寶魚和杏仁羊柳鴨肝。
羊柳做得很好,沒半點膻味,嫰滑羊肉沾滿脆脆的杏仁碎,配上黑松露醬,非常好吃
不知道如果配薄荷醬效果會如何?
多寶魚以酥皮包著,也是很特別的做法,鮮甜的魚,不錯

今日行經諾士佛台見到有間新開食意大利菜嘅餐廳,喺一號七樓,叫amico,咪上去試下囉。上到去,啲裝修又幾好喎,環境清幽好舒服。入到去,部長即時出黎招呼我,態度友善殷勤,令我好有賓自如歸嘅感覺。我一坐底,就覺得啲櫈坐得好舒服,咁我就問個部長啦,原來佢係其中一位老闆,啲櫈係佢地自己設計搵人訂造嘅之後waiter 攞左menu黎,我一睇,價錢唔貴,啲野又特別,所以我都叫左幾多。burrata配新鮮蕃茄,口感味道一流,龍蝦湯既香亦濃,scampi 十分鮮甜,羊扮嫩而唔騷,甜品賣相亦好吸引,甜而不膩,最值得讚既就係個紅蝦linguinie,絕對比酒店嘅質素有過之而無不及!之後餐廳嘅張大廚好細心地出黎問我有無咩意見,同佢傾左陣,原來佢喺外國讀過廚,亦喺香港有名嘅意大利餐做過,佢嘅手藝真係一流,食材落喺佢手都變成藝術品。總括黎講,呢間餐廳嘅service同食物都係一流,價錢合理,童叟無欺,喺出面絕對食唔到,真係值得一試!

Went to Amico with my two girl friends last night for an early celebration of Christmas. My first impression was that the restaurant signified a very warm and cozy atmosphere. Went to Amico with my two girl friends last night for an early celebration of Christmas.

My first impression was that the restaurant signified a very warm and cozy atmosphere. It was tastefully decorated with light reddish brown tile floors and featured a fascinating groceries isle at the entrance.

The waiter took our coats and attentively offered to store away some of our shopping bags (after a full day’s battle of Christmas shopping) so that we could be more comfortably seated.

The waiter then professional gave us a brief walk through of Amico’s signature dishes and in the end we chose to each order a soup and appetizer and some main courses to share.

For soup, I ordered a clams & mussels soup, while my friends ordered lobster bisque and porcini cream soup. Not the perfect manner, but we did have fun digging our spoons into each other’s selection so in the end we tried all three, and I must say the porcini cream soup was the best.

For appetizers, we took our picks from the antipasti table and also ordered a beef carpaccio and a deep-fried softshell crab for sharing. The crab was excellent, nice and crispy but not too oily. The beef carpaccio you can tell the beef was really fresh so I guess the chef used a light lemon and olive oil sauce to not ‘steal-away’ the freshness of the beef. Due to my personal preference and craving for heavier taste, I added a bit of vinegar to my portion and I think they went well together too.

For main courses, we ordered Amico’s signature dish of linguine with Sicilian red shrimp and date tomatoes, baked home-made tagliolini and lamb chops with hunter style sauce (whatever that means). As the waiter who took our orders knew we were sharing the main courses, apart from the tagliolini, the kitchen had considerately divided our linguine and lamb chops into three smaller dish portions.

I must say, all three main dishes were marvelous by all standards! But out of the three, I think the linguine with Sicilian red shrimp was the best! The waiter patiently explained to us that the characteristics of the red shrimp is it sweet taste and it’s normal that the texture is a bit coarse so that it best carries the sauce and in order to get the most out of the dish, we could slice out the shrimp head and gently suck out the sauce from it first to pamper our taste buds. Alternatively, we could slightly squeeze out the sauce from it (into the linguine) by pressing the back of the spoon against it.

For desserts, we ordered Amico’s signature dessert lemon tartufata and a tiramisu to share.

Overall, the meal was very satisfying. Price per head was around HKD500 per person which we found quite reasonable for the food quality and services.

I recently read from the magazine about this newly opened Italian restaurant at Knutsford Terrace where it says the main chef was previously from Sabatini. As I am a big fan of Italian cuisine, I eagerly made a trip there tonight with my sister (I'm not usually a Kowloon person though ) and the dine out experience at Amico really exceeded our expectations.The restaurant occupied the whole of the 7th floor of the building and we were particularly impressed by the tasteful decors of the place. Menu of the evening:-

Soup – Lobster bisque
Appetizer – Deep fried softshell crab (along with my favourite avocado guacomole)
Main Course – Linguine with white truffle, pan-fried scampi & lamb chops
Dessert – Tiramisu

In general, all the dishes scored a pretty balanced high standard and I was especially impressed by the softshell crab (quite soft and crispy and surprisingly not too oily) and the white truffle linguine was also fabulous. Actually, the white truffle dish was recommended by the waiter there who told us that they were doing a December promotion for seasonal white truffles. And from my experience with other Italian restaurants, the white truffle price at Amico was comparatively quite reasonable.

Services there were also excellent. The waiters were well trained, polite, patient and simply professional.

Price per head for the meal was around HK$500 which I find quite okay for the high food quality, services and atmosphere.

今日放假,相約左朋友去試新開張無耐既意大利餐廳,諗住lunch 可以慢慢食唔駛趕就走,可以慢慢享受!!食評最重要當然係食物既質素啦,有相有真相,我地試左set lunch~~ 感覺唔錯!!先試左佢既前菜,選擇都好多下,特別鍾意個菇菇同芝士,貪心既我試左8成既前菜跟住就到麵包,軟淋淋感覺新鮮,中間既棒棒好脆,不過如果可以加一種硬身既包包我會更like (個人喜好)再來一個三文魚意大利粉,我大鄉里出城問下點解意粉要用隻咁既碟裝住,原來係為左張個意粉保持住暖暖地,唔好咁易變涷,係意大利菜會有既特色之後飲左一個好有特式既湯,蜆肉青口湯,每飲一啖都要連埋一粒青口/蜆肉一齊飲先正!! 終於到主菜了,我地係羊架配牛,非常好羊既我當然覺得羊比牛正!! 不過睇相....我估大家都會知件牛都唔差啦食到最後,亦係成餐我最滿意既一環,甜品!! 好多時食到呢個時候,都已經飽左八至九成,好唔想食d 好飽好漏既甜品,呢兩個甜品,唔漏之餘仲好清新,呢樣我真係俾滿分意大利菜,我唔係專家,亦都唔係食家,只以普通人既心態來試,佢俾到我一種制作既用心,食野除左買質素,亦都要有服務,連我問意大利粉隻碟咁白痴既問題佢都慢慢同我解

意大利菜,我唔係專家,亦都唔係食家,只以普通人既心態來試,佢俾到我一種制作既用心,食野除左買質素,亦都要有服務,連我問意大利粉隻碟咁白痴既問題佢都慢慢同我解釋,我相信佢地係有heart 的,有機會會去試多一次食dinner,唔知會有咩野驚喜呢~~~
