I've been searching for a good hot dog place in Hong Kong for 8 years but could never find one. Today, went to try this Big Dog on Island West and it's surprisingly good!
At the first place I thought it would be another local hot dog place since it offers fish balls, siu mai and such as snacks, but it also has variety of sausages to pick from frankfort, spicy to vieanna and etc. I selected this Chilli sausage which reminds me of the hot Italian sausage I used to have at the hot dog stands in Toronto. Even the toppings are similar, they have choices from mushroom, bacon, pineapple to corn and etc which are some out of ordinary toppings compare to just ketchup, mustard and raddish. The bread is toasted that is similar to the grilled bread in Toronto, not like most of other places in Hong Kong using steamed bread. The hot dog is 80% close to the Toronto's one I used to have, it's a hot dog made with heart compared to those in Central. It's a recommended little hot dog stand that worth a try!
