Usually pizza is not my cup of tea. But since some of my friends recommends this place, so had lunch with four other friends here.
This restaurant is just at the corner of the pedestrian bridge to the mid-levels. It is open and gives you a fresh impression of the restaurant. The menu is not similiar to other American-italian restaurant such as Fat Angelos, Dan Ryans or Amaronni. Quite nice, i think.
We ordered a baked mushrooms and Rustica tomatos as entrees. Both were very lovely. The baked mushrooms were made with portobello, which i like a lot and it was stuffed with mozzerlla cheese and some pesto and went with a bechamel sauce. The Rustica tomato was a roasted tomato marinated with fresh herbs and olive oil.
This restaurant offers two types of crust for their pizza. The thin classic Neapolitan or the crispier Roman. We tried the Neapolitan. We tried a Padrino, it was a pizza with roasted chicken, grilled aubergine, peppers and courgettes and rustica tomato and some pesto. All the ingredients joinly gave a intense flavour. It was very good.
Also had two pasta, one was a Melanzane e Carni alla Parmigiana. This was in fact having no pasta, it was made with layers of aubergine, tomato, beef bolognese, mozzarella and bechamel. This was quite similiar to a lasagne, only with the pasta slices. Very tasty and nice.
One of my friend is a funghi lover, so we ordered a Fusilli ai Funghi. This one was Fusilli pasta with wild mushrooms in a creamy white mushrooms sauce and with a hint of truffle oil. This one was like best by all of us. It gave different layers of scent of mushrooms.
This restaurant turns another view of italian food to me.
