十一月係我既生日月,友人P一如往年邀請我食生日午飯,榮幸之至,就揀左公司樓下呢間UPP餐廳。提早book左位,接線職員同埋餐廳既receptionist都好有禮貌,餐廳環境唔錯,有落地大玻璃,對住信德直升機坪,陽光灑入,感覺幾悠閒,令人心情愉快。餐廳比起幾個月前黎食唔同左喎,包括前菜、主菜、飲品同埋額外加錢既甜品。前菜可以揀湯、沙律、蒜蓉包,或者加錢轉燒菠蘿或者水牛雞翼。我揀左沙律,朋友揀左湯。沙律除左菜之外仲有番茄仔,配黑醋,簡單美味,另外附有類似foccacia既麵包兩片。朋友既湯係栗米煙肉忌廉湯,望落唔會好水,不過我冇試。主菜係兩份黑松露芝士煙斗粉,份量好大,望落似macaroni with cheese,但食落冇咁漏,我鐘意佢個煙斗粉好al dente,亦都好索到芝士,另外加入一絲絲既黑松露醬,輕易清左碟。甜品係另加既,友人P二話不說order左一件blueberries cheesecake兩個人share,賣相幾有心思,除左cheesecake之外仲有伴碟既朱古力醬同埋融入左士多啤梨醬既cream,cheesecake香濃但唔會過甜,blueberries醬足夠,配埋伴碟既

飲品叫左凍檸茶,味道正常,可以自行調較甜度。

講東講西,好快過左一個鐘。謝謝友人P既生日飯,同埋今年既第一件生日蛋糕。

As I work in Central / Sheung Wan and like most areas, finding venues for lunch can be quite a challenge especially when the weather is very bad.  Anyway, for any of you that tries to find food in Shun Tak knows that, the usual places are fully packed and may need to spend more time queuing than eating.  I thought I will give UPP Kitchen & Bar a try because I don't really want to waste time queuing for 30mins when I only have 1hr lunch break.   Surprisingly, I didn't really need to wait too long

As I work in Central / Sheung Wan and like most areas, finding venues for lunch can be quite a challenge especially when the weather is very bad.  Anyway, for any of you that tries to find food in Shun Tak knows that, the usual places are fully packed and may need to spend more time queuing than eating.  I thought I will give UPP Kitchen & Bar a try because I don't really want to waste time queuing for 30mins when I only have 1hr lunch break.   Surprisingly, I didn't really need to wait too long and had to sit at the bar tables until theres a table available.  The lunch menu was fairly standard/basic, nothing to surprising.  
We ordered the soup and salad (for starters) and salmon (for main).  I felt the portion was a bit small and the quality was just average.  The soup was warm (not hot) and there wasn't a lot of salmon/fish.  They serve garlic bread, but again very small portion and wasn't that crispy/hot as I thought it would be.

More importantly, I felt the service was not that great.  One of the main reasons why the soup/food was warm and not hot, I believe that the service was very inconsistent.  Perhaps lack of staff and I am guessing the food had been waiting to get served for a bit of time before the staff took it out.  I observed, the tables nearby, one lady (sat down when I arrived, ordered before me)  was eating alone and had to wait 30mins for her steak to arrive, had to consistently remind the staff.  When I was about to finish, her steak arrived.  

I don't know about you but considering that most people have approx 1hr lunch break (including walking away/back from office) and the poor customer service level, I may give it a miss.  This to be fair, was the last resort on a wet weather because there weren't any other choices.  I think with the price and the service level, it isn't that worth it.  Lets hope they improve.

跟同事們星期五外出午膳,一行十多人又不想飲茶,有同事提議了信德中心4樓的UPP Glof Club。一直以為這裡是個小型私人會所,原來餐廳也招待其他顧客的。餐廳地方不大,所以安排了一房間給我們。午市套餐選擇不多,大家各自點一個 set。我選擇了鮮蝦丹麥包配薯條,starter另加40元要了輕煎北海道帶子。帶子大隻,用牛油略煎,約7至8成熟,裡面仍然是嫩滑,表面再淋上少許酸甜的芒果醬汁,屬開胃starter。鮮蝦丹麥包上場,看上去以為只有三隻蝦,切下去原來丹麥包內還有三隻,絕不欺場。肉質彈牙的蝦點了mayo sauce, 再加上鬆軟的丹麥包,確實美味,剛炸好的薯條亦香脆,即使熱量超標也不管了。餐廳的食物及環境確實不俗,只是侍應在下單及上菜時顯得有點手忙腳亂,可能是較少一大班顧客來吧。

帶子大隻,用牛油略煎,約7至8成熟,裡面仍然是嫩滑,表面再淋上少許酸甜的芒果醬汁,屬開胃starter。

鮮蝦丹麥包上場,看上去以為只有三隻蝦,切下去原來丹麥包內還有三隻,絕不欺場。肉質彈牙的蝦點了mayo sauce, 再加上鬆軟的丹麥包,確實美味,剛炸好的薯條亦香脆,即使熱量超標也不管了。

餐廳的食物及環境確實不俗,只是侍應在下單及上菜時顯得有點手忙腳亂,可能是較少一大班顧客來吧。

今日一大班老友記約了上環反局,開反之前來個 歡樂時光這個地方很大,一進入內左手面係打golf 練習場地,再轉入……一大條長巷順序放了十多張枱,全部落地大玻璃,面对海港看看drink list 有好多選擇……而這段時間係buy one get one free.....選了士多啤梨加lemon 特飲……友人選了house Red, 然后選了一份洋蔥圈小吃,我杯特飲清新和酸酸地……味道好夏日。小吃就炸得香口。很愛這個環境及侍應很有禮貌和友善。看個menu 有lunch and dinner,有機會真的想試試。

同事生日訂好枱食飯,入座率7成左右,一坐低見到炸魚薯條就要即刻叫,有湯有餐飲,多謝178蚊,由一點鐘點餐等到1點55分先有得食,好期待既炸魚薯條到一擺低個碟唔好食唔提,炸魚肉無味道一大舊魚放落去炸,我另一個同事的炸魚切開入面係唔熱的,薯條還好的,但太油,餐湯粟米湯有渣又水汪汪的,比起罐頭湯仲要難飲,餐包還好叫係熱的,餐茶杯咖啡叫做最正常,可惜就連要打包都答你無盒俾你打包,真係第一次係餐廳食飯無呢項服務。

唔好食唔提,炸魚肉無味道一大舊魚放落去炸,我另一個同事的炸魚切開入面係唔熱的,薯條還好的,但太油,餐湯粟米湯有渣又水汪汪的,比起罐頭湯仲要難飲,餐包還好叫係熱的,餐茶杯咖啡叫做最正常,可惜就連要打包都答你無盒俾你打包,真係第一次係餐廳食飯無呢項服務。

今日準備去澳門工作因未夠鐘上船便週圍行下,經過信德中心想停下來吃個午餐行到4樓發現Taste對面, 一間以高爾夫球做主題的餐廳酒吧, 裝修別緻所以入去一試!由進入餐廳已有服務員安排入坐及遞上餐牌 ,菜式以西餐為主, 頭盤我選擇了北海道輕煎帶子, 食落微暖帶有鮮味,口感不錯! 主菜方面服務員推介的龍蝦包令我十分驚喜, Danish bread 口感鬆軟, 龍蝦肉十分足料飽滿而且很鮮甜. 甜品方面apple crumble即叫即焗十分香口. 總括而言,這是一間性價比很高的餐廳, 值得一試.

信德中心新开golf bar,本来以为会员制,结果看到门口标牌,说午餐starting at HKD98 ,异常亲民,所以想着今后一定要来试一次。阳光明媚的复活节假期,我带着友人一起来。映入眼帘的背景墙是一大片绿色的森林,让人心情瞬间变得明亮。我们散点了几道厨师推荐菜,点评如下:1)wagyu beef cheek。香气扑鼻,牛肉入口即化,滋味鲜美而不过分。我大爱里面的红酒汁,就着里面的番茄、胡萝卜、芹菜和土豆,特别好吃!推荐必点!2)Hokkaido scallops。颜值不错,scallops入口柔嫩多汁,加上一点点酸味,整体口感平衡而丰富。其他菜也在香港平均水平之上:3)鹅肝4)BBQ chicken wings和服务员聊起厨师的背景,惊讶发现厨师就是中环Paul's kitchen的partner。要知道我之前从Paul's kitchen 已经叫了至少5次外卖了。。。这真是意外之喜!看来以后不用叫外卖,可以直接来信德中心解馋了。总结:大隐隐于市的独特餐厅。下次会带朋友来尝试lunch set或者打golf的。

和服务员聊起厨师的背景,惊讶发现厨师就是中环Paul's kitchen的partner。要知道我之前从Paul's kitchen 已经叫了至少5次外卖了。。。这真是意外之喜!看来以后不用叫外卖,可以直接来信德中心解馋了。

总结:大隐隐于市的独特餐厅。下次会带朋友来尝试lunch set或者打golf的。

The duck confit was just right because the skin was crispy and the duck wasn't too salty paired with potato gratin and blueberry sauce.

A delicious apple crumble because the apples are stewed in vanilla and sugar.

It was topped with real custard.

主菜是這裏的招牌菜,慢煮紅酒和牛面頰,原來用上精選上等澳州和牛面頰肉,用上傳統西方的慢煑,首先在和牛面頰用汁及大量紅酒和蔬菜,慢火超過三小時,這樣的話,食材保留原汁原味,牛面頰放入口中,很腍很香,真的充滿骨膠原,加上淡淡的紅酒香,可以說入口即溶,令人回味無窮!

我特別喜歡這裏的傳統英式炸魚薯條,回為這康是用上北美深水鱈魚,因為較厚身同肉質好,而且加上英國啤酒嘅炸漿,再加上自家製ta ta 醬,真的停不了口!

甜品是我的至愛Apple Crumble, 因為花上很多功夫做的,做得好吃真的一点也不容易,因為用上雲尼拿加糖煮熟蘋果做底層,中間是用牛油麵粉概Crumble, 外面的Custard 又香又脆,咬下去蘋果又甜又軟,吃出開心的感覺!

另外男友叫的Brownie with icecream, 他很欣賞, Brownie是自家製的,朱古力味道濃郁,夾有杏仁碎,帶有陣陣的果仁香味!

我們都十分享受這間餐廳的氣氛和晚餐,最重要吃出幸福的感覺!

The setting is not bad with spacious area. When it comes to the food quality, it is really overpriced. For the starter, the caesar salad which goes with the lunch set is really crappy with just a few wedges of lettuce and bread crumbs, not to mention the dressing is too salty and the crumbs are not crispy. Also, the 2 slices of bread are probably of the smallest size i have ever seen that u can finish it no more than 2 bites and it is cold when served. The biggest disappointment is my main dish,

The biggest disappointment is my main dish, steak. It is overcooked like a well done one which i ordered medium done. Finally the coffee that i shouldnt have any expectation. I believe boiling water was used and that explains its over-bitterness of taste.

The bill costs me $250 which i would be willing to pay just 70 if i could have the choice.

信德中心開咗新酒吧,中午有提供午餐,位置有點隱閉,近三樓taste超市入口。可惜今日無鴨脾,否則我會試下。餐湯係粟米湯又甜又新鮮,餐包鬆脆好味。不錯。之後叫了安格斯肉眼扒,5成熟,有驚喜,肉質鮮嫩,配菜薯仔煎得香軟。正。環境也不錯,有bill gate,呀唔係,係有鏢機。夜晚唔想落老蘭劈,可以過來坐下同三兩知己傾計。會再來午餐。畢竟新開業服務仍有改善空間,希望下次更好。偷得浮生半日閒,如果有時間,我會食完個晏,再過澳門行下。咁就Perfect了。
