We've been to Mustard for drinks, snacks and dinner - it is consistantly delicious! This is a small place, it probably seats 25 at a push. The kitchen is open plan so you can watch and smell everything. The staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and make suggestions for what's fresh and how much to order. Last night we had happy hour drinks (20% off) and then stayed for dinner. The "cheap" house wine is an award winner and it's lovely and smooth.
We followed the staff suggestions and had the squid salad and the wagyu beef cheek. Both were superb!! The cheek was slow cooked for 72 hrs and was complimented by a creamy celery puree, a red wine reduction and some lovely baby carrots. The squid salad had a pesto dressing, some lettuce and a bit of veg.
I will note that some dishes that we saw go to other tables looked a little small, but we purposefully talked to the staff before ordering, so ours were a good size. We spend about $600 for 2 people ($300 each), including the tip, and that included 3 glasses of red, 2 beers and 2 mains - amazing!
Before leaving we stopped to tell the staff how great everything was, and the chef came over to talk to us, shake hands, and the owner gave us a few free shots of whiskey.
If you have not been here, it's time to go!!!
