A while back, a couple of my friends asked me for steakhouse recommendation in HK and I completely drew a blank. Now with Carna by Dario Cecchini opened, I can tell you that would be my go-to steakhouse in HK going forward. Carna is the latest Italian steakhouse in town, helmed by the legendary butcher from Tuscany, who made world famous for his appearance on Netflix’s Chef’s Table. Dinner at Carna was a delight, with a breathtaking harbour view, beautifully designed by the award-winning Joyce
The sommelier was particularly generous, offering us Campari orange and house-made Sangiovese as we arrived.
At the end of the meal, he paired the complimentary olive cakes with Moscato d’Asti, which was particularly memorable to me as its intriguing elderflower and pear flavour accentuated the sweetness of the olive cakes 🥰.
Dishes that we had:-
🔸Chianti Tartare - One of Carna’s prized specialties as they use the tender rump of beef as opposed to the usual sirloin or tenderloin. The rump gives the tartare some extra texture, not the usual bland lump of minced beef.

🔸Burrata E Pomodoro Cimelio - Trio of tomatoes and Apulian Burrata cheese. The basil sorbet on the side made the dish exceptionally refreshing.
