The unexpected heavy rain at night kept our dinner idea within the hotel area. Staff were gentle and friendly. Sauteed honey peas with lily bulbs and cashew was a fresh start. Honey peas were crunchy and fresh. A hint of sweetness paired so well with the gentle taste of lily. Cashew brought extra crunch and nuttiness. It was a well balanced dish.
Stir fry cauliflower in pot with Sichuan sauce was a seasonal dish. It was serving in a sizzling hot clay pot. It was surprisingly delicious. It was incredibly flavourful. Apart from the spiciness from the chilli, there were also bell peppers which gave the sweet side. Thin slices of pork belly absorbed all the sauce but didn't taste heavy and greasy at all. Cauliflowers were still crunchy and perfectly cooked. Well coated with the sauce made it extraordinary flavourful.
It took a while serving the pan fried minced fish cakes with lotus root, but definitely worth the wait. The crispy toppings gave a huge crunch to every bite and it stick on the fish cake well. The minced fried onion, mushroom and herbs gave the fish cake both some sweetness and umami flavour. Lotus root flavour wasn't strong and it didn't taste fishy too. It was a hearty savoury dish to keep you eating until finished.
It was a very pleasant dining experience. The seating was spacious and comfortable. Food were delicious and in right portion. And it allowed to stay and chill with cups of tea after finishing the food. Price was also worth the quality with additional seasonal credit deal. Highly recommend.
