On a quiet thursday afternoon, my friends and I went out for lunch. Original destination was closed, so we ended up in agnès b. Restaurant was quite empty, with only 10% of seats occupied. Seated immediately and given menus. Deco and hygiene are on the better side, no appetite ruining disturbances visible. After a bit of pondering, we ordered the following items:
Ratatouille Provencal ($78)
Linguini with Duck Leg Confit ($138)
Linguini with Seafood: Mussel, Fish, Scallop ($148)
Hazelnut flavored Cafe au Lait ($40)
Avian Water ($32)
Chestnut Cake ($??)
The Provencal looked very average. Like the other Provencal depicted in other reviews, what they put on it is reasonably sparse. My friend said it was very average.
Linguini with the Duck Confit was pretty good. I ate this myself, the duck confit was pretty good, without being too salty or too bland. The linguini went well with the duck. Save for the price tag, it's a good dish.
Linguini with Seafood was alright, so my friend says. The fish is salmon. I had a bite of it, it's what you'd expect from salmon if it wasn't seasoned. Well cooked though. Looks like there was only one or two pieces of scallop and mussles made up the rest.
Hazelnut Cafe au Lait is well, what you'd expect. It tasted nice and you could taste the Hazelnut, but my friend suspected they used syrup, like the kind you would see at Starbucks. I'm assuming that's true because of what it's called, Hazelnut flavored Cafe Au Lait.
Avian Water. For 32 dollars a person. They didn't provide water for us so naturally this is quite offputting and fustrating. Need I say more?
Chestnut Cake was mediocre. It's 50% chestnut paste, 20% actual cake. Oversweet. I'd avoid this one unless a lot of sugar is your thing.
