Just wanted to share our dining experience, last Mother’s Day, The kids already gifted her the weekend’s staycation at Disney Explorers Lodge, but they wanted to take her someplace new, so we decided to try the semi-buffet here, instead of the usual outlets in DEL (sorry, Neville 🙇🏽♂️..next time for sure..promise).
We came for the 1800 slot. Although this menu/arrangement has been serving for some time now, we noticed that there was still a long queue for walk-ins, so it is advisable to reserve/pre-pay (thanks again for your help, JF @ DEL 😉).
Basically, the main courses to choose from are more or less the set items offered before they became a buffet restaurant, with some adjustments to quantity/presentation, which was fine as we always used to prefer to dine here vs banquet hall, Clopin’s, etc when we wanted more than burgers.
What we found new was the salad selections, hot appetizers and dessert, which were actually tasty/delicious...so good that if you’re not careful, you could easily fill up and be satisfied just with appetizers & have no space for main course 😅. Theres a drinks station...too bad no coffee
The food/main course comes quick after you order, but theres a few choices of salads/appetizers to try so you may want to hold off your mains order or at least match your order time with appetizers coz of table size here. Spacing between tables/diners is acceptable, covid prevention protocols in place.
We were seated in Russia (first time actually as we usually opt China, Egypt...this area felt more brightly lit then the others)....bravo to castmembers at Explorer’s Club, greeter/reception/server/runners & above, for their quick, efficient, friendly/welcoming service.
Overall, this semi-buffet service is a good addition/change vs other F&B outlets offered in the park, with reasonable pricing. But I do hope there will be changes to the main courses occasionally, just as the salad/appetizers bar items change.
Thank you, Explorer’s Club, for being part of my wife’s Mother’s Day with a delicious and comfortable dining experience, for her, the kids and me.
