兩張呎半成呎半枱拍埋坐五個大人, 4個人坐都好迫, 還要在枱尾加個位, 根本坐都坐唔落, 唔好講食嘢.  如果是30元食個麵, 還叫可以接受,  花到三四百元, 連一張正式的枱都冇, 絕對是過份.  食到好似乞兒咁, 幾好食都假.

Heard so many things about this little place it really is a must try...... the steaks are soo good, too good to describe. you just have to try for yourself!!!The Chick bites are juicy and the buffalo wing delicious.... just a touch of spice not too much to make it spicy!!!We were doing a booze free week so we ordered their frest juices..... 100% fresh nothing eles added in.......not even ice!!!We had the seafood pie as well as the NZ Hoki it was great, very original recipies.Next trip will be tr

朋友唔帶我嚟呢度真係唔易發覺有間咁好嘅小店響呢度, 呢間餐廳得幾張枱, 好啱鐘意靜靜哋傾計嘅朋友. 今晚係下雨天, 可能咁嘅關係只有3枱客, 店裡只得一個店員招呼, 但店員都好好咁解釋佢哋牛扒嘅分別同通常份量有幾多, 因為呢度係按重量計嘅, 相比出面嘅steak house, 呢度真係價錢合理, 絕對係牛魔王嘅一大喜訊!! 首先係紅菜頭沙律, 個汁有點酸, 好開胃, 但朋友唔係幾喜歡個酸味, 所以我又食晒咁滯, 之後嚟個炸魚, 魚肉嫩滑. 主角出埸啦...我哋ORDER 5成熟, 的確剛剛好, 保留到本身肉汁, 好有牛味又唔會有肥膩感, 下次會試埋佢哋嘅海鮮!

wow wow wow !!!!!What a great little place hidden away in Oaklands Path just a 2 min walk from the Sai Ying Pun MTR exit C.Im extreamly hard to pleawse when it comes to a good meal let alone a good steak and i have to say THE DEN tops my highest expectations ever....Not only was the quality of there Wagyu M5+ outstanding but Head Chef Chetan Grung cooked it to perfection.We started with the Soup of the day which was Brocilli and Spinach, the best taste ever, together with a order of the Pork Rib

Im extreamly hard to pleawse when it comes to a good meal let alone a good steak and i have to say THE DEN tops my highest expectations ever....

Not only was the quality of there Wagyu M5+ outstanding but Head Chef Chetan Grung cooked it to perfection.

We started with the Soup of the day which was Brocilli and Spinach, the best taste ever, together with a order of the Pork Ribs marinated and covered with there home made sauce wow it really has a amazing taste and the meat so tender it was incredible..... the Done 'n' Dusted Chicken has a great little kick to them and we got to sample some of there Nachoes coming up on the new menu. 

For mains we all had to try the Wagyu Steaks so we ordered a 2 large Wagyu steaks for the 3 of us to share a 480gms Ribeye and a 800gm Rump to compair and share, they were so good we ended up ordering a third steak which was a 370gm Tenderloin.
the texture, flavour and succulence was the best i ever had!!!!!
Home made mash is the best in town you can tell they make it fresh every day.

We skipped on the desserts as we had our own birthday cake but we wont make that mistake again cause man they looked so good.

They make fresh juce to order wich is great fro the kids.
Wine selection is extremely well priced and service was outstanding... friendly and profesional.

The Den is for sure our new regular dining spot wish we hears of it earlier.

聖誕節走在西環的街頭,其實也挺冷清的,雖然地鐵通車後食肆多了很多,但人流卻未見增加。一個人走在街頭吹著冷風,但那種寒冷卻是由心底傳到外面的。走著走著,看見這家賣牛排的餐廳,不是之前一直很想吃卻沒有機會去那一家嗎?聽說這裡的牛肉外間少有,我這牛魔王自己食指大動。爬過長長的懸崖峭壁,終於到達了這隱世的餐廳,店子小小,大概最多只可以坐20人吧?貴精不貴多,選擇也不算多,但牛排是必然之選。牆上除了教授食客關於牛的不同位置的稱號外,還刻有各位大胃王的排名,吃得最多的竟然在一餐內吃了1050gram的RUMP STEAK,令人震驚!很有趣的DONT FLUSH REMINDER,最後一個EX,卻被人寫上我想沖走這個啊!XDLa Goudale-有著濃郁麥味的啤酒,甘甜的餘韻,跟紅肉是絕配。而我卻不會告訴你這些是從MENU抄來的介紹XD大家知道一頭牛最貴的部位是哪裡嗎?Sirloin?Rib eye? 大家知道一頭牛最貴的部位是哪裡嗎?
Sirloin?Rib eye? Tenderloin?
其實都不是,最貴的是 Mignon!
這部分的牛肉肉味最濃,而且極端鮮嫩, 鬆軟無筋, 油脂極少,最適合煮成medium rare
想不到The den店子小小,竟然有我最喜歡的Australian M9 Wagyu,加上還是最嫩滑的Mignon,令人十分驚喜!
這牛排果然沒有令我失望! 入口即溶卻又肉汁鮮濃,吃牛排的最高境界莫過於此,如果一定要為這份牛排計分,我會給 10000分
題外話/補充資料: 老實說,若只論牛排的味道,這小店分數絕對高得爆表。以M9 MIGNON的基本價格,$588就有300gram更是非常抵食。 不過侍應跟廚師的手腳似乎很慢,從點菜到上主菜,我等了幾乎1小時,實在極需要改善。

當我第二次幫襯位於西環屋蘭士里的家庭式小店 The Den 時,事隔兩星期,至今已是 5個月前嘞!  當日下午,好幾位姊姊好友為我慶祝生日!  在晚上,我獨個兒再走來回味這裡的美食! 再度幫襯,熱情的混血兒老闆娘跟我 say Hi!   問候我幾好嗎?事隔兩星期,這裡的裝潢有點不同,還添上一些裝飾品點綴一番! Onion soup $68由於,老闆在新西蘭居住了幾十年,烹調自然會加入新西蘭口味,  這裡的洋蔥湯,先以牛油炒洋蔥絲,選用雞骨熬製,再加入黑椒碎來提味,散發牛油香氣!  卻出奇地少油,問老闆秘訣在哪裡,原來牛油的油份浮面,老闆先撇走多餘油份,入口鮮甜而清,洋蔥清甜兼腍身,很不錯! 由於,老闆在新西蘭居住了幾十年,烹調自然會加入新西蘭口味,
 這裡的洋蔥湯,先以牛油炒洋蔥絲,選用雞骨熬製,再加入黑椒碎來提味,散發牛油香氣!
 卻出奇地少油,問老闆秘訣在哪裡,原來牛油的油份浮面,老闆先撇走多餘油份,入口鮮甜而清,洋蔥清甜兼腍身,很不錯!

揭開這酥皮,叉子感應到其新鮮出爐的脆感,不過在米黃的白酒汁中,較少用於西餐的蟹柳竟意外地暴露了!

喜歡那酥皮香而不油,入口輕薄香脆,又不失口感,吞了一大片,也不覺負擔,還想追著吃。或許您會認為牛油香不足,不過我倒愛它的清爽,試想想比臉龐還要大的一張酥皮,若牛油用量太多的話,相信會讓人吃不消!至於白酒醬汁,帶著溫純如家的風味,可是海鮮的香氣比預期為輕,而一口海鮮粒亦未算豐富,僅少量蟹柳、蝦、魚而已,味道尚可,但未有驚喜!

老公選了Wagyu Tenderloin M5,這件非常厚身,如富豪保鏢的身型,約重 430 gm。

香氣不俗,肉質非常腍滑,使得刀叉也難以掌控。切開後,露出鮮艷的紅調。

入口外層帶點焦脆,肉質腍滑、細緻、幼嫩,使人有著愉快的口感!可見 Wagyu 質量不錯,不過我倆均喜歡焦香和鹹度稍重一點,不過也明白 Wagyu Tenderloin 始終以柔軟見稱,牛脂含量不多,脂香相對較遜是能理解的。

「The Den」玻璃門旁貼掛有一個 Waygu Leader 的排名表,第一位是享用 1050 gm 的 Kingslayer,而另一名11歲的小朋友 Carrie Cheung 也消滅了一塊重 463gm 的肉眼扒,比我們兩人還要厲害!

「The Den」地方細小,當晚與鄰座的桌子大概只隔10吋的距離,加上我們的餐檯同時間只能容納兩碟食物,確實有點擠迫,不過外藉老闆娘親切、健談,忙完便會出來跟客人暢快地聊天,這是小餐廳獨有的氣氛與優點。

若要品嚐大塊的牛扒,不要忘記提前預訂,講出心水的 Weight,不熟路的朋友也得順便問清楚去餐廳的 Way!

We decided to try out some place new, having walked past The Den a few times we went in! The lady was very nice and suggested their new specials for my partner and I,I had the lobster which came with FREE flow of spanish cava the whole night! And my partner had the ribeye steak which was the best he had (wagyu steak) very suculent,I highly suggest going there one night just for a calm evening in with good food and a great chat with the owner.I think we might be back for the new brunch menu in th

從幾間餐廳選了這間, 就在家附近, 好方便. 因為食店不大, 所以朋友都預訂了位。 18:30 到達, 當時只有一枱6-8 客人。 我跟朋友點了fish bites同greek salad for starter. 然後問了waitress當天的waygu ribeye有什麼size的選擇, 我跟朋友都不是big eater, 所以會share一件steak, 問了後, 有1pc係380 gm and 1 pc係420gm, 我們要了420gm的。這裡是沒有麵包送的, 所以不要expected. 很快fish bites同greek salad來到, portion都不細, 如果細食的女孩, 吃這2 個starters, 應該都足夠, 魚塊都有7,8 件。 魚不會腥, 很怕腥的我, 亦覺得好食, 唔係爛蓉蓉的. Greek salad的菜, 青瓜, 橄欖, 番茄都新鮮。 差不多吃完starter, 件steak就來, 看來很大件, 立即中間切一刀, 係medium, 剛好! 件扒好tender + juicy, 就算邊位到唔覺chewy. 食完件steak 其實已經飽, 朋友是甜品人, 那當然要試啦, 叫了一個banana pancake, 雖然他叫pancake, 賣相及食落似crepe 多d, 他的special syrup 我就覺得好甜, 個"pancake" 整得好食, 但我覺得隻蕉就最好不要連皮來serve, 因為我們跟老板娘聊天一陣, 蕉皮已經變黑了. 點解話老板娘係良心店主? 因為佢地只charge senior 同 student $35 一個lunch, detail 我就無問, 因為我沒有資格享受, hahhaa.....她話寧願d 錢來回饋commuinty, 都唔買廣告做宣傳, 唯有靠食客宣傳啦! 加油, 老板娘TM!

The Den, 外賣紙上有中文名字"好掂",大概是"The (very good) 店" 的意思吧。家庭式經營,菜式不多但有誠意,亦有人情味。The Den burger 一百蚊左右,坊間如此價錢通常食 Triple O 好過,呢度可以有塊幾靚嘅漢堡扒,有肉味又juicy。粗薯條有薯味又唔太肥膩,份量亦足。難怪似乎有外區客,亦教人有信心下次試貴價牛扒。誠意小店,要頂住貴租同物價呀...

1. I ordered onion rings (which is not on the menu), and asked for garlic aioli sauce (which is also not on the menu, and I was purely giving a go, not expecting I would get it at all). The kitchen made it from scratch for us, and it was way above my expectation. Those stuff looks simple, but it tests your skills in the kitchen

2. I had Ribeye grade 5, absolutely stunning. It was served with just one steak on the plate, no garnish, no extra fancy stufff. But it's simply beautiful. Succulent, well cooked from both appearance, and most importantly, the texure and taste. It's one of the best steak I've ever had; even better than some of the fine dining rooms. Australian steak, best ever without doubt. I smelt it when kitchen was cooking it, and straight away, I knew it's the Aussie steak that I'm very familiar with. The only one, I can think of, that can be compared with is Vic's Meat in Sydney, who is the supplier for most of the five-star hotels and fine dining rooms in Sydney

3. I called the dinner tonight as Dining Experience. Friendly owner who chatted with us a lot, her experience, her job, her family, etc. Executive Chef, who is the dad of the daughter who served us, has spent 52 years in the kitchen.

It was wonderful night, simply awesome experience.

The owner's family is very nice and the ambience is also very good.  The food is of very high quality. We ordered the onion soup, wagyu beef burger, wagyu ribeye M5 medium rare, seafood pie, with salad, mashed potato and sauteed mushroom as side dishes

We like the wagyu burger and the wagyu ribeye steak most. The wagyu beef for the burger is very big and tasteful. The burger is sandwiched with a lot fresh vegetables, making the burger very perfect.

The doneless of the wagyu ribeye steak is very even. The steak is juicy, tender and succulent. It is one of the best in Hong Kong but is priced very reasonably.

The side dishes are of very big portion and very delicious. They have very good value for money

We also like the onion soup and the seafood pie but we do not have big suprise from them.

Restaurants are as much about the service as the food and this gem in SYP has both spot on. I stumbled across it walking home one day and popped in for a breakfast after a heavy night.Chose the bacon and egg butty which I had to send back as it has ketchup on it, but the kitchen changed it with no fuss. Also a tea which came unusually in a cafetiere. They offer free range, organic eggs for and extra $15 so I went for that. Bacon was superb and plentiful, bread nice and fresh and eggs (x2) cooked

The owner is very friendly and happy to spend as much as little time chatting all things food.

Their speciality is their Wagyu steaks and it's clear they're passionate about steaks. Their prices are extremely competetive and much better value thanthe usual steak places in Central and Soho. That's most definitely on my list.

They get a liquor licence shortly and I'll be vouching for organic ciders but they're about as easy to find as free range, organic eggs.

So, eschew the High Street trendy places and pop her for a great meal, good service and something a bit different.

Situated on a quiet residential street a stone's throw from the Bonham Road MTR exit, its location is convenient yet tranquil in an "off the beaten path" way. Initially we were concerned by how empty and quiet the place was, but figured that the absence of patrons must be attributable to the restaurant's pending alcohol license. Initially we were concerned by how empty and quiet the place was, but figured that the absence of patrons must be attributable to the restaurant's pending alcohol license. These concerns quickly went away when the food landed on the table. Here are the highlights:

Tasty Fish Bites - Perfectly batter-coated pieces of fresh, delightful fish served with a tangy tartar sauce on the side. We devoured these within seconds and came very close to ordering another plate.

Done 'n' Dusted Chicken Bites - Tender, melt-in-your-mouth golden nuggets of chicken joy encased in a perfect zingy crunch. They were spicy enough to be interesting, yet savory enough to stand on their own. The quality of the chicken was superb. 

Wagyu Beef Cubes - These delicate and flavorful beef morsels more or less "steak teasers" that provide a hint of what is (or could) come next. 

Wagyu Tenderloin & Wagyu Filet Mignon - It is difficult to put into words what consuming these steaks was like. Impossibly tender yet marbled to perfection, each bite was more satisfying than the next. These were by FAR some of the best stakes we've ever consumed in Hong Kong. 

Salmon - Tasted freshly caught and was perfectly cooked until tender. Nice to know that a steak house can so expertly source and cook such excellent fish! 

Fluffy Mash Potatoes - Had just the perfect amount of whatever the chef put in them (we suspected perhaps a combination of cream and butter). They made the perfect accompaniment to the flawless steak. 

Greek Salad - Not terrible, but paled somewhat in comparison to the other dishes. We couldn't tell whether the salad had been left completely undressed or if perhaps the dressing was just too scantily applied. Fortunately our lovely server generously brought us out some dressings on the side. The chunks of creamy feta were delectable but could have been larger or a bit more plentiful.

French Fries - We couldn't really tell if these spuds had started out fresh or frozen, but either way they were quite good indeed. We wouldn't hesitate to order them again.

The service was uniformly friendly, thoughtful, and attentive throughout. We all agreed that the music could have been turned up a bit to create a livelier environment and help prevent the place from feeling so empty/quiet - especially when walking in at first.

Our final bill for all of the above plus a quinoa salad (not reviewed) and several bottles of sparkling water came to around HK $2,200. Considering the massive size of the tenderloin and the overall high quality, we felt this was a bargain. We are hopeful that once the restaurant starts selling wine that the bottle prices will be reasonable.

I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends and visitors alike.
