素食burger ,eee原來啲餡同頭先食個薯條入面嗰啲餡係類同,不過咁好味,食多少少都冇壞。至於我至憎食嘅中式包,原來配搭上咁濃味嘅餡料,都幾好,而且好易吸收哂啲汁。

小食,牛肉鍋貼😍😍😍又係另一驚喜之作,牛肉餡竟然係好似pullpork 質感嘅牛肉,應該係慢煮/燉,好有心機同誠意,而且好好味。下次再來一定會再點呢樣!

好好吃,點了pork belly,szechuan fried chicken,brussel sprouts,lamb tartare,我覺得pork比chicken好吃,雞都好嫩,多汁,味道也很好,Brussel sprouts 超級好食,味道甲得好好,Lamb tartare就腐皮太油,羊肉配上他們調既汁,味道也不錯!

2. Pork belly bao(7/10)
原本主打係呢個,但食落去其實又唔係話好驚喜,唔算特別。出面係饅頭,入面有夠中型size嘅豬肉,唔肥,佢個醬有少少似燒汁,都幾惹味,但係個食法好難,因為塊豬肉好淋,饅頭又淋,加埋啲醬,食落去其實好易甩出嚟😥😥但齋講味道嘅話,算中上啦。

3. Ice cream bao(salt) (9/10)😋
反而甜品非常出色!🤩出面係炸饅頭,有啲甜入有啲甜,但炸得唔會死脆,會有返麵包軟嘅質感,入面係鹽味嘅雪糕再配埋焦糖醬,食落又熱又凍😂冰火咁😂 但個包配埋雪糕係食到欲罷不能啊!好爽👻正!

4.ice cream bao(greentea) (8.5/10)
因為實在太好食,所以嗌埋另一款味道,今次係綠茶,雪糕都重綠茶味嘅,但佢加埋煉奶,再配埋少少甜嘅炸饅頭,個感覺太full,唔夠平衡😭比起鹽味,綠茶係少少失色。

整體來講,呢間野算係比較新穎,氣氛都唔錯,有啲音樂😌適合chill下輕鬆下😗不過行上去間餐廳嗰陣唔就唔太輕鬆啦haha😂👍🏻

Ordering a cocktail to start, I had Chris' Lemonade ($85) while Ivy had the Yuzu Soda ($58). Mixed with vodka, chrysanthemum, honey and ginger syrup, my cocktail was highly refreshing and demonstrated the interesting fusion of the traditional ingredients in preparing.

For starter we had the Sesame Caesar ($78). This salad has Indian lettuce, fried dace, black beans and panko. From the list of ingredients you might wonder whether you are having the Cantonese dish. Seasoned well, the fried dace and black beans provided the savory taste to the vegetable with a nice dressing, and the panko further enhanced the crunchy texture. A really nice concept of using the ingredients in a modern western dish.

The other dish we ordered was Drunken Clams ($138), with the huge clams steamed with Chinese Shaoxing wine, on top of potato puree and having some enoki mushroom. Before serving I could already smell the signature aromas of the wine. The clams were smartly fixed in position by the creamy potato puree underneath, and were fairly tender. The enoki had absorbed all the flavours so were great in taste too.

Proceeding to the bao, I decided to try the Szechuan Fried Chicken ($78). With the bun replaced by Chinese bao, the burger contained Chinese black vinegar glaze, Szechuan mayo and coleslaw. The chicken is deep-fried nicely, with crispy skin and seasoned well to give the spiciness without over-doing it. The shredded cabbage was also great in taste with the vinegar glaze and spicy mayo.

My wife had the Fish Tempura ($78) instead. The fish was Black Cod and after deep-fried with crispy skin, served along with tamarind palm sugar glaze and pickled lemongrass fennel salad. Even though I did not try it myself, from her feedback this burger was nothing short of spectacular. I believe this would be even better than the fried chicken I had. Next time I would need to try it out.

Finishing with a dessert we had the Salt Ice-Cream Bao with Caramel ($38 each). The mini-bao was deep-fried to golden brown and then sandwiched with a thick piece of ice-cream of salt flavour, with some caramel drizzled on the side. Apart from the interesting contrast of the hot bao and cold ice-cream, the salt flavor of the ice-cream was another highlight. However the bao was just a bit too oily for me.

The service was good, with the staff very friendly and helpful. Overall the bill on the night was $650, quite reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered. No wonder this restaurant is so popular for locals and foreigners.

I've never tried the branch in Soho as I wasn't a fan of the cosy bar-like seating but this new location was much bigger in comparison. It used to be the iconic Pacific Coffee (or pseudo-library) where floods of students would gather and take up all the seats with their study books sprawled across the tables as they shared a mocha between five. We went decided to give it a go and walked in with just a general sense of the type of cuisine served there. Basically, Little Bao is a fusion of 'East meets West' with a modern twist on simple dishes.  

I'd say this place falls into the same space as Bread and Beast. Similar flavours, an Asian touch and typically catering to the overseas diners giving them a little taste of home away from home.

The baos were actually quite tasty, I felt they had the same moreish characteristic of the traditional 'char siu baos' in which they are derived from. The bun itself is a nice contrast to the usual bread/brioche by providing a light, fluffy 'pillow' for the pork to rest on, allowing you to enjoy the full taste of the filling with a hint of sweetness from the bun itself. It's hard for me to think back to the pork belly alone as the components of the bao have such a strong  synergy as a whole, but from what I remember, I was surprised that it was not overly fatty and barely needed the gentlest of bites to break into the soft and tender meat. I could totally see why many of the diners around us were ordering several different baos right off the bat and then making a second order soon after. I look forward to trying the other fillings when I head over again in future.

The truffle fries came topped with mushrooms and truffle dressing. Rather than eat them the usual way, you toss the bowl together like a salad, albeit, a relatively unhealthy one. The fries were the crunchy-soft type I like, the mushrooms (which I usually don't like) were soft and not overpowering in taste and the dressing was a little tangy, which binded everything together ever so smoothly. Though I would say the portion size wasn't the most generous but I guess I am a glutton for fries so you can make up your own mind about this.   

The short rib dumplings were good; the casing was crispy and chewy and I did enjoy being able to taste the slow-cooked, tender beef. I have to say again for 128 HKD, it would just be a dish you try out of curiosity but it was not substantial enough to be considered a real dish.

The Szechuan fried chicken was just mediocre if I am being honest. The fried chicken was similar to those you would find in a Korean fried chicken joint. Even though I don't eat Szechuan cuisine all too often, I'm still well aware that the authentic flavour takes more than just adding five-spice seasoning. There was none of the tongue-numbing spice of the Szechuan peppercorns and don't get me wrong, I certainly don't enjoy the dreaded 'ring of fire' the next morning that you get from somewhere like 'Chili Fagara' in Soho, but if you state something is a certain flavour then there should be some form of validation in the taste.

With all the media coverage about Little Bao and their female head chef, it’s been one of the most popular eateries in the Soho areas. But with all due respect, I don’t really get the hype about these little baos...

The bao itself is very soft in texture and as you can see in the pic, it’s very smooth on the surface.

They have a few choices for the fillings for the baos. I prefer the pork belly one ($78), though the pork belly was a bit too salty for my liking. The Szechuan fried chicken that my friend had wasn’t spicy as expected and the meat was a bit on the dry side.

One thing to note is that, the service is excellent even tho the resto is EXTREMELY busy and crowded. Excellent staff & management!

I’ve wanted to visit this place for ages because it’s one of the most highly rated places in the city and my culinary idol, Anthony Bourdain visited when he came to HK. It was amazing! I had the Impossible bao and the fried chicken, with a bite of the fish bao. All the them were incredibly flavoured. You can also sit at the kitchen and it’s clear that the staff know exactly what they’re doing and put loads of effort into the food. They’re all really friendly and ready to take pictures and answer

We received a table roughly one hour later. The seating inside Little Bao is rather cramped and you basically sit elbow-to-elbow with your neighbouring diners.

I ordered the Szechuan fried chicken bao with a black vinegar glaze, Szechuan mayo and coleslaw. Though it was tasty, at $78 it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. I had to order at least 2-3 for my stomach to be somewhat filled.

We got a serving of the short rib panfried dumplings to share. At $128, it's also quite steep for only 4 dumplings. Although they use beef short ribs, I couldn't really taste the flavour and was somewhat masked by the toppings.

Finally, we ended with the Little Bao ice cream, with green tea ice cream and condensed milk. This was my favourite dish of the night and was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. Make sure you take your pictures before eating it, as your fingers get pretty sticky afterwards!

Heard of the chef here has been voted as the Asia’s best female chef in 2017, really proud of her! We ordered smoked eggplants, 2 Baos - Pork Belly and SzeChuan fried chicken, and also 2 dessert baos - salt caramel and green tea with condensed milk.

The eggplant sauce is quite appetising, but a little bit salty and too much parsley for me. But the smoky flavour was quite impressed me.

For the Baos, the taste is still the same as before, delicious! The bun is soft yet with good texture. Love the sauce with some vinegar inside which can balance the fat of the meat. Personally like the Szechuan fried chicken one much more, very special and yummy!

But the portion is quite small so desserts is a must! Desserts are also very good, the bread was a bit fried with ice cream filling.....so nice!!! Actually I can eat 2 of them!! If they have more choices then we may order another 2!

Little Bao was on my wish list for a few years and finally got a chance to visit during a long weekend. There wasn’t much choices on the menu, we ordered two Baos and truffle fries. The Prok Belly Bao was soft enough, we were impressed by the combination of ingredients. The pork belly was not greasy at all and it was very tender, with mixed layers of fat and meat, the sauce was a bit sweet but it perfectly matched the pork belly. Their fries is a must ordered item, couldn’t find such intereste

Happy Friday 又約人去食飯,今次試左間係PMQ附近既burger,不過其實佢更加似中西fusion burger open kitchen既design 真係好岩係PMQ附近,唔知點解hahahaha個menu 已經印左係張檯紙到,唔洗問店員攞餐牌諗唔到叫咩好,叫staff 比啲suggestion我地😂,最後我地叫左pork jelly bao, fish tempura bao, lamp tartare 同最後叫左個salted caramel ice cream 呢個lamp tartare 真係不得了,超好食,佢似tartare 但佢係用左腐竹黎做,啲staff仲要好nice咁見到我地唔夠炸腐竹比多一碟仔我地勁可愛個口感!!! 我啲指甲完美同啲羊同色左兩個包都係佢地suggest 既,呢個pork jelly 比較似中式茶樓會叫既點心, 可能係佢個豬同佢個包都好中式,入邊係五花腩。但都好食!之後咬左啖朋友的包,哇,好好食😂 個醬同佢個魚勁夾,又唔似普通burger咁,呢個更得我心最後話要減肥但忍唔到,叫左個ice cream bao, 要預番10-15 分鍾,佢有

諗唔到叫咩好,叫staff 比啲suggestion我地😂,最後我地叫左pork jelly bao, fish tempura bao, lamp tartare 同最後叫左個salted caramel ice cream

呢個lamp tartare 真係不得了,超好食,佢似tartare 但佢係用左腐竹黎做,啲staff仲要好nice咁見到我地唔夠炸腐竹比多一碟仔我地

最後話要減肥但忍唔到,叫左個ice cream bao, 要預番10-15 分鍾,佢有sake味簡,心思思, 但係穩陣起見最後都係簡左salted caramel

好好食,冰火兩重天,個皮係熱既個餡係凍既,但係敏感牙齒既我食得有啲辛苦😂 但係好食既!
