I went to the Chilli Thai Restaurant with 3 friends, one who is Thai and one who has lived in Thailand for many years. All of us agreed the food was very good, nice flavours and good service. One of my friends can only eat Halal food and the resaurant was very accomodating in changing dishes for us so we could have seafood instead of meat. I went to the Chilli Thai Restaurant with 3 friends, one who is Thai and one who has lived in Thailand for many years. All of us agreed the food was very good, nice flavours and good service. One of my friends can only eat Halal food and the resaurant was very accomodating in changing dishes for us so we could have seafood instead of meat.

We order the BBQ fish, we all agreed it was fantastic. It is the Thai style fish BBQ with herbs inside and salt on the outside. The meat of the fish was very tender and tasted fresh and clean. The skin with the salt was just the right mix, crispy and salty and a lovely accompaniment to go with the fish meat.


They make some good authentic dishes, we ordered the spicy pak a pow dish with prawns, the right level of spicy and good mix of flavours made it very enjoyable to eat. We also had the som tum, the papaya salad, it was very fresh and served with big prawns. The seafood curry comes in a coconut, it is creamy and has a good selection of seafood inside. On previous visits we have tried some of the curries, and have agreed that they are some of the best Thai curries available, not watery, creamy and full of flavour.

Overall had a very good visit and will definately be back. The food is good quality and the price is fair. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the wait staff are very friendly, my boyfriend being Thai enjoys the food here and says its much better than the offerings in Central such as Cafe Siam and Tuk Tuk.

是日晚餐想食泰國野, 聼朋友話呢間泰出色唔錯,生蝦新鮮,辣得出色!青咖哩雞好味道,好creamy,配搭超香蒜蓉包,好味!柚子沙律,清新開胃,炎夏最夾,仲有蒸鱸魚好JUICY,而最最最讚的係燒豬頸肉,超香,仲有O的似叉燒味!聽說,大廚係泰國人,難怪這家泰國餐館咁出色!!

今日一如以往到此餐廳食lunch, 叫了最喜愛的印尼炒飯。滿心歡喜等待,可惜來到卻大失所望! 此飯一向附有兩串沙爹, 但今天卻變成兩串日式雞肉串, size細了兩倍有多, 而且是$1x一包五串的微波爐食品(我常到超市購買)。縱使加了些沙茶醬, 但日式串燒怎可「扮作」東南亞沙爹?食罷感到非常失望, 大約50元的午餐亦算不上便宜吧?以後, 只好告別此店我最愛的「印尼炒飯」~

就是因為想食海南雞飯才走進這家坐滿了客人的泰國菜館!落單才告知海南雞飯已經賣晒一刻, 當堂覺得很掃興.算~ 反正喜歡食的多的是~我和女友最後點了冬蔭公, 泰式鮮蝦炒金邊粉先來的是冬蔭公, 看上去都是一個標準的SIZE,"不"起來就看見有很大隻蝦!! 一共4隻~每隻都已去殼, 和挑腸~ 有誠意!! 味道很好, 有風味~可以"不" 4碗!不是很大碟, 可說是適中~~4隻蝦相信和煮冬蔭公的一樣~~ 都是去了殼, 和挑腸!但最驚喜的就是那金邊粉的口感, 很彈牙~~~是我食過的最好味~最後甜品就是香芒椰汁糯米飯,可選(白, 黑, 綠)我們選了白黑!!來了!一放入口就不得了, 很香! 很甜!好食的就不用多說!這個一定要叫呀!!!!

先來的是冬蔭公, 看上去都是一個標準的SIZE,
"不"起來就看見有很大隻蝦!! 一共4隻~
每隻都已去殼, 和挑腸~ 有誠意!!

味道很好, 有風味~
可以"不" 4碗!

不是很大碟, 可說是適中~~
4隻蝦相信和煮冬蔭公的一樣~~ 都是去了殼, 和挑腸!
但最驚喜的就是那金邊粉的口感, 很彈牙~~~
是我食過的最好味~


最後甜品就是香芒椰汁糯米飯,

To try out a Thai restaurant's standard, I think it's quite telling to taste their Tom Yum Kung and Pad Thai. We are always ready for Tom Yum but didn't feel like having Pad Thai that night. The soup was rich and not oily, spicy but not quite hot enough, must have been toned down for the average HK diner who can't tolerate chilli foods, sigh! we should have told the waitress we wanted it authentic

Pomelo salad was a nice surprise as it came with 5 plump and firm prawns, he ate 4 and I ate one. The pomelo was juicy and there were some dried little salted fish in the dish, very nice

Dry curry chicken was creamy and rich, again not hot enough for us. I feel this dish is not so authentic as it has quite a lot of sauce, the dry Indian curries I have had before were really dry, no sauce. If you discount the fact that it is a Thai dish, then it is a pleasant dish with a good flavour. We ordered some garlic bread to dip into the sauce. The bread was toasted beautifully but I forgot to take a photo.

And my favourite dish was this claypot minced pork with diced olives. The rice is mixed with the taste and smell of the salty diced olives and there are a few pieces of Chinese sausages which gives out a fragrant oil when cooked with the rice. Once the lid was opened, the smell filled the room. Yummy.
After dinner, we went to Silly Boo yoghurt. Because it was Halloween, the girls there were dressed as draculas and I ordered a yoghurt with aloe vera, natas de coco, granola and one ghost marshmallow. Such a nice end to a late Sunday night. Almost made it bearable that it would be Monday the next day.

今日過佐銅鑼灣…一路行返黎時…見餓餓地…正正想食d辣野…就俾我見到呢間泰國野食…入到去就俾冬蔭公既野吸引住…就叫佐個冬蔭蝦金邊粉,湯底方面,d料都算幾足下,加上椰汁味好香,金邊粉又多哦,酸得黎又辣辣地…真係超正,另外再叫佐個菠蘿炒飯….見佢果名咁特別….估唔到真係食落總特別…甜甜地得黎又香口…炒得總好香好夠火喉tim…而且樣樣野都ok多…推介大家一試….抵啊!

之前去過呢間幾次食下午茶, 因為坐得舒服啲嘢又好食. 今次去食晚飯就有啲失水準:炸軟瞉蟹 - 太多粉, 唔夠香脆冬蔭公蝦金邊粉 - 以前食過好正, 不過今次啲湯好淡又無蝦味泰式濕抄河 - 夠入味又多汁, 正!椰青沙冰 - ok唔知係咪晚飯時間比較忙所以食物失水準呢?! 下次都係下午茶時間先去食

聽聞這飧廳味道及質量都幾好口碑,今午適逢路經試了两亇下午茶飱,一亇濕炒雞肉河粉$36.00一個香芧豬米粉.$28.00(包一杯飲品)當炒粉上桌時,賣相都算ok, 雖然只見幾條芥籣和雞肉湯茨,以為 河粉在碟底,所以不停將食物番轉來炒,幾經辛苦和耐性,最後才找到幾條較日常為粗之碎河粉在碟中心. 當時我簡直嚇到想大叫伙計, 是否廚房唔記得落粉炒, 怎可能2 湯匙粉也设有就收$36.00. 這簡直欺騙和趕客. 我以後會都唔好去這間謀財寺.

蝦春卷,就是春卷內有蝦,看似簡單,但要做到春卷皮脆薄香口,蝦肉保持鮮嫩爽甜,絕非易事。碟上六隻海蝦被金黃熱辣的酥炸脆皮網住,剩下蝦尾外露,想逃?根本無路可逃,我一把捉住其中一條尾巴,一口,兩口,脆卜卜的春卷皮散滿枱。蝦膠黏附著鲜蝦,彈牙程度攞滿分,蘸上酸甜醬,鮮味外更是惹味,我和小朋友就此愛上這道‘脆蝦脾’。

游水蝦後有另一隻游水鴨,同樣被酥脆外皮包著,幸運的是他永遠活著,肚皮內還不時盛載香濃濃的咖喱,昨天綠,今日黃。酥皮黃咖喱海鮮是他此刻的舞台角色,奶白色披肩作服飾,印有金黃色圖案,我替他脫去披肩,椰香一湧而上,腹脹脹的牠袋有魚、蝦、魷魚及青口,好一個黃色的海洋世界。酷愛香辣的我,看見咖喱自然食指大動,拿著酥皮就來,沾個金黃。咖喱汁稠杰,香氣重,輕甜不辣不嗆喉,海鮮亦爽脆新鲜,怪不得食家們都點名激讚這鴨子。
咖喱與薄餅,合拍程度沒有100都有99吧!一小塊,一口汁,停不了口。所有好薄餅都是外脆內軟,表面金黃,撕開一層層肉心的那一種,這裡就是。

最後,一窩焗芋頭蝦仁飯,米飯濕漉漉,非一如焗飯的半帶乾身,芋頭硬實欠粉糯,加入冬菇,甘荀,粟米心等配料,味道仍然淡口,幸虧,蝦仁爽口。整個焗飯沒吃掉半窩,三大一小都放棄他,任由他變成冷飯菜汁,沒法子哩,再見!


那窩飯就此作罷,整體水準還好,下回再試看兩歲小食家會吃果汁熊仔糖還是其他出色泰菜吧!

I was thinking about a safe choice like Simply Thai, but I figured maybe I should try something new and hence I chose Chilli Thai Restaurant. We arrived the restaurant at 9pm but there were still people queuing in front of the restaurant. While we were waiting, the waitress approached us, told us that our seat would be ready in a minute and whether we would like to order first. As we had checked the food on the menu earlier while we waited, we ordered straight away. The total waiting time was about 15 minutes, but it was fine as there were a cooling fan outside the restaurant to provide a cool breeze.

The food had started to serve to us before we sat warm our seat. Everything came so promptly, the dishes were all packed together in a small 2-people table. The waiter, seemingly the manager or some sort of higher level staff noticed the scene, pulled and combined the table next to us immediately to give us more space. Very thoughtful of him, I was very impressed.

When the Dong Yum Gon arrived, the waitress immediately served the soup for us immediately. She meticulously distributed the seafood and soup into our bowl. I very much appreciated her effort, but she made me missed the chance to take a photo of the original pot. Seriously they gave a superb generous amount of seafood in the pot! There were octopus, squids, prawns, mussels, mushrooms, tomatoes and herbs. Octopus and squid were chewy, Prawns were at medium size and were very fresh, Mussels were big and fat. Fortunately there is no such thing as too much when it came to nice food, so I was very contented with the overmuch ingredient.

The soup itself was absolutely scrumptious, a very spicy pot indeed. The taste of cilantro and herbs had perfectly permeated the soup and every ingredient it contained. You felt the spiciness on your tongue, but could not control yourself from craving some more into your stomach. We had 4 bowls of soup from the small portion, we wondered how many bowls could the large portions bring. Highly recommended!

2) Stir-Fried Flat Noodles with Beef
This dish could be accompanied by chicken, pork or beef. Since we had the chicken curry, we were choosing between pork and beef but were kinda indifference between the choice. So we asked for the waitress for opinion, she replied with an embarrassed but cute smile, saying they love beef more, so cute! When the dish arrived, I saw no difference from a typical Stir-Fried Flat Noodles with Beef in Hong Kong style, except more ingredients in the dish. After tasting it, I realized the dish was actually sweet along with the saltiness. What I love most about the dish was that the beef which were really nice and tender! No matter they recommended beef over pork. I also love the side ingredients, such as the eggs, the mixed veggie, baby corn and the red carrots. There were also lotus root, which although is sweet and fresh, I personally think its taste did not really pair with the dish.

3) Green Curry with Chicken with Puff Pastry on Chicken Pot
I was really excited about this dish, firstly about the puff pastry, secondly about the cute chicken pot. There were two curry choices, yellow or green. According to the waitress, green is spicier than yellow, so we chose green. The restaurant is smart about pairing puff pastry with the curry, they are a perfect match. The puff pastry was baked just right to give the golden brown colour on the cute chick. When I tilted the edge of the puff pastry and had a peep at the inside, the sudden flow of a rich and nice curry aroma steaming out of the leak almost killed me. Not another second of wait, we started to attack the chicken.

The pot was again very generous with overmuch chicken pieces. There were interesting ingredients such as Thai aubergine eggplant in it. It texture was like baby tomato but were a bit softer. Its real taste was confused by the perfectly permeated curry taste. There were also some eggplants in the pot, but there weren’t any taste on it. The curry sauce was just mildly spicy, very rich, creamy and saturated with coconut taste. It was truly a great dish.

4) Pancake
We had the pancake along with our chicken. The pancake was hot when served and had a nice brown colour. When it comes to pancake, I personally prefer a softer, air-cushioned like texture with lots of layer. The pancake here was not puffed enough, so the texture wasn’t that soft and was on the stiff side.

5) Lychee Smoothie
The Lychee Smoothie was nicely décor with a flower at the side with a bubble tea straw. The texture of the Lychee Smoothie was thick, The taste of lychee was strong and was only mildly sweet. What I love most about the drink was the wooden long spoon which had a small flat spoon base so I could enjoy the smoothie spoon by spoon. The drink was overall just average.

6) Coconut Milk
The coconut milk was really nothing special. There were only a slight touch of coconut taste with it. The only memorable thing was the cute twisted straw.

Overall, I had a very nice dinning experience in the restaurant. The service was great, all the waiters were very friendly and cute. They paid attention to the customer’s needs, gave modest recommendations when needed, clean up the table from time to time and would came over and talk to you occasionally. The food on the other hand were pretty genuine, lots of herbs and thai food were added into the dishes. The portion were more than average, order a portion less if you want to visit the restaurant. There were still several appealing dishes and appetizers available on the menu which I will definitely come back to try them.

星期四補足媽媽節,去左天后搵嘢食,最後見呢間泰出色都多人食喎,咁就入去試下先黎泰式醃蝦柚子沙律,酸酸甜甜幾開胃,醃蝦都唔錯椰子雞湯就黎之前巳經分左四碗,覺得酸左D,奶味都OK既泰式炒雜菜都OK咖哩炒蟹,個汁幾好味,比較挺身,蟹就係比水蟹,肉就唔多,多番D就好喇呢間泰出色係天后黎講都算唔錯,仲見到有人飲紅酒添

跟同事到此食晏, 上兩次吃後不斷回味。今次我點了海南雞飯 ($45), 同事點了我上次點的冬陰公雞絲札肉金邊粉 ($40)。海南雞飯雞肉很滑, 附上的醬汁少少辣, 很惹味, 飯 -->ok。另附上冬瓜雞肉湯一碗。冬陰公雞絲札肉金邊粉水準依然, 好味道。另送飲品, 冷熱同價, 午市沒有加一。我們會再來的。
