As a sort of unofficial celebratory dinner, Mr. C and I made an impromptu decision to dinner at the IFC branch of Inagiku~ Having enjoyed our previous experience at the TST location inside The Royal Garden hotel I was looking forward to see how the Hong Kong side Inagiku would compare.

Up on the fourth level of the Four Seasons hotel, the Inagiku commands a huge space. Cool and chic, there was no evident vibe of prententiousness despite it being a fine dining establishment. Aside from private rooms, diners can opt to sit at one of the teppanyaki tables for some live cooking action or for a more relaxed arrangement the general dining area is just as pleasant for soaking up the peaceful harbour views.

Wanting somewhere a little more quiet, we chose to sit in the general dining room. Looking through the menu, they do both a la carte as well as set options featuring teppanyaki which considerably were decently priced in a restaurant like this, but since none of the sets really piqued our interest we ordered a la carte.

A chilled Japanese tomato started off the evening for us. There is just something so special about Japanese tomatoes, ever so sweet and juicy with that beautiful deep cherry red colour. Paired with the sesame dressing it was most refreshing as an appetiser, albeit a bit small in size.

Sashimi-wise we ordered our usual selection of scallops and salmon. Plump, velvety chunks of scallop paired with luscious slices of fatty salmon. Simple, but good.

Mr. C knows I have a soft spot for Japanese tamago, hence he picked this for me
A roll of omelette cut into four generous pieces. When I bit into it, I was expecting sweetness and a hint of mirin to wash over me since Japanese tamago is usually prepared this way, but surprisingly it was salty. The egg was fluffy and moist, but I would have preferred it more had it been sweet.

A selection of tempura vegetables: pumpkin, gingko nuts, baby green pepper and baby corn. Inagiku is renowned for their tempura and it was easy to see why that is. The coating was subtly crunchy and for something fried it was deceivingly light with no heavy, greasy aftertaste. I really liked the pumpkin, soft, melting textures, but the sweet corn slice was my favourite~ each sunny yellow kernel popped with juicy sweetness.

Chawanmushi with sea urchin. Always a delicate dish, a bowl of steaming egg custard in all its wobbly glory crowned with a touch of sea urchin. Hidden inside the smooth custard were an assortment of mushrooms, prawns, gingko nuts and to my delight sticky balls of mochi~

For mains, we had teppanyakied lamb cutlets. They were a touch overdone resulting in a slightly chewy mouthful, but still acceptable.

We ended our meal with wagyu beef fried rice and assorted vegetables. The rice was cooked just right, nicely dry where each grain of rice clumped easily together to be picked up by chopsticks and although the diced pieces of wagyu beef scattered throughout was lean, its fragrant flavour was still detectable with each mouthful.

To me, assorted vegetables served from a teppanyaki grill generally consists of a jumble of bean sprouts, mushrooms, cabbage and carrots, but not the version here... The 'assorted' vegetables was just a big plate of cabbage with a few julienned carrots and greens thrown in for colour. Nothing can really go wrong here as it was mainly a matter of using fresh produce, but the name was unfortunately misleading...

There were both hits and misses to the evening, but overall the quality of food was still considered to be above average. Despite this branch of Inagiku being situated in a more spacious environment with spectacular views, I think I still prefer the one in TST...

吃過天婦羅後,來一客清涼的蜜瓜啫喱,簡直透心涼的感覺

特別加上精美蛋糕非常意外驚喜,4款蛋糕分別是芝士蛋糕、芒果慕斯、紅豆綠茶、拿破崙,滿足了我們各人不同喜好,非常滿足

Came here for dinner after shopping at IFC for convenience. It felt like the most worthwhile part of the meal was just the convenient location. The question that came to mind was - was rent so costly that they have to sacrifice every else to stay afloat? Seriously, that was not a good excuse for the average quality of food and terrible service.

Ordered a la carte - tomato salad, agedashi toufu, sashimi salad, tempura of assorted seasonal vegetables, white fish kakiage, maitake kamameshi and tekamaki.

The quality of the dishes was very average, the ingredients didn't taste particularly bad but neither were they particularly fresh or of fine quality either. The quantity was definitely a laugh - seriously not worthy of the price tags put on them.

An unexpected experience really regarding the service. I think no serious Japanese restaurant would use plastic chopsticks that were fashioned to look like wooden chopsticks, but this branch of Inagiku did. I can understand for environmental protection some may opt for plastic chopsticks, but seriously, plastic ones pretending to be wooden ones!? And they served our orders in a very strange way - e.g. agedashi toufu is an appetizer but came out last; tekamaki is usually the last to serve but was served as though it was an appetizer. I supposed this branch of Inagiku has somehow turned into a "Japanese Style" restaurant, serving Japanese-style food in a localised way...

The way the managers and waitresses handle our table was interesting too. It started right after we were seated. The manager got our drinks preference wrong (there were only 3 of us, come on), then it took them a good 5 minutes to bring us the menu / towels. The waitress who took our orders appeared as though she could hardly understand our orders at first - and was going to place our orders without repeating our orders to confirm. As the dishes were served, none of them bothered to clear away the sauces and condiments that came with previous dishes, and only upon our requests did they change our plates. They brought us dirty bowls to serve the kamameshi without realising it, and got our requests for replacement bowls / spoons wrong 3 times out of 4. Amazing.

The food was hardly enough for all of us, but we were so fed up with the service that we decided not to place additional orders as we originally intended.

One of the managers came to ask how we found our dinner when we were almost done. Our comment was - "don't even ask, you don't want to know the answer, just bring us the bill".

Shame on this branch of Inagiku, to me, they have totally and utterly trashed the revered name.

We made a reservation, and showed up a little early, and were seated no problem. I ordere the Tempura Kaiseke, and my girlfriend ordered the Tempura set dinner. The sashimi we got with our meals was very good, definitely the highlight of the meal. The tempura was mediocre at best, it was a touch greasy, and not super crunchy, but the flavours were OK. The soups were OK. All in all it was a mediocre meal, that was definitely not of the calibre I was expecting, especially considering the price. I

呢晚終於嘗到一直想試的日本菜, 我地叫咗 $880的 set "天婦羅會席套餐" 再散叫了"燒銀雪魚" 和 Sake. 環境幾好, 不過比較細. 最出名的天婦羅比我想像中差dd. 刺生也麻麻地, 但都ok的, overall 水準ok, 但比較貴了點. 而且很細碟, 1人份量只夠1人食.....但服務非常好. 值得慶祝節日去.

My first time to dine at Inagiku Hong Kong Branch.I've been to the Inagiku in Japan few years ago and had a very nice food experience.Overall, it is quite nice in Hong Kong as well.Good food, good service, nice environment, superb night view!What I am the most impressed with is their Tempura!It is so surprising that they can do Tempura with nearly the same quality as what was in Japan!Doing Tempura is difficult since there are many ways to go wrong.The Tempura served at Inagiku is perfectly cris

I've been to the Inagiku in Japan few years ago and had a very nice food experience.

Overall, it is quite nice in Hong Kong as well.
Good food, good service, nice environment, superb night view!


What I am the most impressed with is their Tempura!
It is so surprising that they can do Tempura with nearly the same quality as what was in Japan!
Doing Tempura is difficult since there are many ways to go wrong.
The Tempura served at Inagiku is perfectly crisp and flavorful.

Someone may think it is a bit overpriced. But, I think it's totally worth it.
If you are looking for the best Tempura in town, you go to Inagiku.
Their Tempura sets the standard.

A former favourite whose standards are falling rapidly. The Chinese staff are unable to deliver true Japanese dining elegance and finesse serving food they don't understand. The restaurant has become noisy and messy and chaotic. Tempura prawns were simply fried -no tempura batter at all for HK$60 for one (yes 1) small fried prawn. We were then served wok fried spinach with bacon! Japanese ? I don't think so. All in all a real rip off to be avoided. There are much better places to find high qual

There are much better places to find high quality Japanese food in Hong Kong who still know how what they are doing. Notably you don't see many Japanese in Inagiku but increasingly wealthy Chinese with more money than taste who don't know what they eating.
I will not go back.

今天老公仔訂了四季酒店的稻菊餐廳為我慶祝日辰,又開心又意外。上星期六才從沖繩旅行返港,吃了很多日式料理,老公仔對於在沖繩沒有食完一餐鐵板燒餐似乎仍然耿耿於懷.....【在日本沖繩國際通的歡笑餐廳吃飯時竟然遇上火警,那時剛開始燒神户牛扒,因為火警要疏散,我們失去了一塊《菊水》神户牛扒,10500円!】由於稻菊有各式的日式料理,應該可以補回吃不到燒和牛的遺憾!剛入門就已經覺得這間餐廳有別緻的裝修,無敵的維多利亞海夜景!點菜時款式花多眼亂,最終選了兩份set:Sushi Kaiseki Set($980)和Japanese Beef Set($1450)點了一款日式酒Koshi No Bairo($320, 180ml)好矜貴!Waitress細心問我們是否share兩份set,她可安排前菜、刺身和sushi先上;跟着才上其他熱食。料理確實精緻,味道鮮美。不過和牛的級數不及不出口的極上神户牛,所以依然不是頂級『牛滋味』!吃飽飽後,最後上甜品,我們實在無能力吃完。估不到甜品是精彩的cheese cake和ice-cream set。比較很多西餐廳還好味!今年生日飯真是難忘!

今天老公仔訂了四季酒店的稻菊餐廳為我慶祝日辰,又開心又意外。

I love Inagiku!My fav jap food restaurant!!!The environment is quite good, the view is nice. Absolutely, the food is amazing. Sashimi is so fresh and so nice. I've never tried shabushabu before... hope i can try it later...Well, if the waitress could be more polite, then the restaurant will be perfect.

每張餐桌之間有寬裕的空間,不但私隱度增加,而且充足的空間使人可以好好享受維港的景色,因為即使再美的環境,但你與鄰座的食客只有一條窄窄的通道相隔,別人吃什麼說什麼你都知道得清清楚楚,又怎可好好享受呢?! 當然酒店餐廳都不會有這個問題了,而且這裡佈置清雅,加上維港的美景,未嚐食物已經很享受了!


我們一行三人分別點了兩個不同的鐵板燒套餐和一份卷物,分別是 (1)活龍蝦及美國牛肉薄燒套餐、 (2)鵝肝、中蝦及美國牛肉薄燒套餐 及 加洲卷。

(1)活龍蝦及美國牛肉薄燒套餐 $620


沙律、活龍蝦、牛肉薄燒、炒菜、海鮮炒飯、麵豉湯、香菜、甜品

活龍蝦燒真的不得了!看看賣相,就像一件art piece,真得不捨得去破壞它。但美食當前,又怎能拒絕呢? 一口咬下去肉質爽滑彈牙,而且非常鮮味!讚!!!


厚厚的一份鵝肝,外脆內軟,在口裡慢慢溶化,然後鵝肝的香氣一直到口腔內蘊釀。而大蝦亦燒得相當不錯,很香也鮮甜,不過與龍蝦和鵝肝相比,我們中蝦變成了第二愛最了




於高級日本餐廳用膳的確不便宜,但像這樣有質素的食物、環境、服務,我們都覺得是物有所值的。加上我們點的lunch set,比起晚市時段用餐,是超級的經濟實惠,而享用的食物是同樣有質素的。大家不妨考慮lunch teppanyaki set啦!
(不過如此富貴的Lunch只可間中嘗嘗, 就是間中獎勵一下自己, 對自己好一點罷!

初一的晚上, 剛好又係阿妹生日, 訂左枱o黎此日本餐廳;個景色就真係靚, 睇晒成個維港, 超浪漫!超靚的景色係要價錢既, 一看menu 就知道!雖知此店係主打鐵板燒, 但其實刺身天婦羅也很出色, 所以每樣都叫左d.刺身每款都好新鮮, 吞那入口溶, 深海池魚雖好鮮但係係肉質硬身d的魚類;點醋好正, 但個人都係喜歡入口即溶的感覺多d.天婦羅全都出色,超熱, 完全唔油膩, 脆口. 蝦爽, 足料.套餐的天婦羅, 係己落了甜豉油不用另點茶鹽等, 同樣交足功課.鐵板大家都係食牛肉多, 此係5成的, 又係入口即溶, 生熟剛好.服務方面, 大年初一, 梗係100分喇!不過真係略貴, 個景到底值唔值呢個價錢, 其實講到尾, 都係同邊個食咁解o者....

服務方面, 大年初一, 梗係100分喇!

不過真係略貴, 個景到底值唔值呢個價錢, 其實講到尾, 都係同邊個食咁解o者....

看了馬生在tvb 的節目, 某集係講學整 天婦羅, 所以特登來試下~一般來說, 5星酒店入面d 餐廳都會比較靜, 不過呢間一入到去就聽到好多人聲. 可能附近是IFC, 也有office, 見到好多西裝人應該是同客食飯. 第一次食高級的日本料理會覺得環境咁嘈 ^^;;;叫了一個刺身拼盤, 就是這樣子一個已經是 $8xx , 可是這個價錢, 而且係一間5星酒店, 比我一舊有根的ToRO 係咪唔係太好呢? ^^;另外也叫了一碗和牛蕎麦麵, 和牛入口即溶, 好吃! 可是那個蕎麦麵完全沒有蕎麦的香香, 同普通麵沒有什麼分吃終於到主角天婦羅! 因為來的目的就是為了天婦羅! 一開始先叫一個 天婦羅拼盤果然!名不虛傳! 粉衣剛剛好, 不油不膩, 好乾身, 咬落去食物本身既汁會仲係到!利害! 睇tvb, 佢話佢地是用芝麻油炸的, 果然比一般的天婦羅清香! 見到上電視的那個日本師傅~~旁邊也有幾位是香港的師傅~~同香港的師傅吹下水, 問下佢有什麼推薦果然, 食日本料理, 真的坐bar 位直接同師傅吹下水比較好, 佢介紹了我地幾款在menu 無寫的幾款炸物咁多樣之中, 最好食的, 竟然是 栗米片!! 不是

咁多樣之中, 最好食的, 竟然是 栗米片!! 不是早餐個d, 是真的把粟米切成一片, 之後炸!真係超甜超好食!! 可能我地個樣真係表現得太好食, 呀日本師傅說那2塊栗米片請我地食~! 果然搭訕是正確的笑~ 咁就慳左 $50~ (對, 一片栗米要$25, 未加一)

之後食了一個帶子包海膽, 也是好食得沒有話說

下次, 來稻菊, 只是食天婦羅就好.
