Golden Monkey (已結業)

This is a good change from the chain venues in One Island South like Pizza Express and Starbucks. While the food is not the most authentic, I think you will find value in a menu that has variety and competitively priced. We ordered a laksa, beef noodles and a banh mi. The laksa was tasty, the beef noodles were ok - and the banh mi was not that great (we have had better in HK).On the weekends it can get busy with the various sports activities across the road.

放眼世界，唔少有型或者文化、藝術感好重嘅社區都係由工廠區轉化而成。香港都有好多轉型中嘅工廠區，今日嚟到曾經有唔少工廠嘅黃竹坑睇mural，下午茶都要食hip啲至得。One Island South啲餐廳，主調係走型格路線，Golden Monkey雖然似deli，但裝修都貫徹型仔主調。可能係假日下午茶時段嘅關係，比較靜局。佢外面有張bar枱仔，所以想戶外進食都可以嘅。好多地方做越式春卷都用中式皮，搞到不倫不類，但呢度真係用米紙包嘅，餡料都算足，但用嚟點春卷嘅魚露味道反而似泰式甜辣醬，呢度就爭少少喇。越南嘢都可以食薯條嘅。面頭撒滿紫菜，配明太子醬，東洋感濃。另外仲有茄汁同泰式辣醬，貪心嘅「醬怪」應該會幾滿足。

大時大節..點都要出去食下..今日同同事出去lunch…本身打算食pizza..但好多人..要等30分鐘以上..當然唔等啦..經過就食佢啦~~越南野我揀左越式法包 $68同事要左 香葉炒辣肉碎飯 $78同海南雞飯 $83秘製薯條 $28香葉炒辣肉碎飯個飯都算多..除左肉碎仲有0的蕃茄青瓜,蘿蔔絲同一隻荷包蛋肉碎微辣,配埋撈左蛋黃0既飯…幾好~~海南雞飯, 雞0既份量都算多, 黃油飯, 配上一碗湯越式法包Size就普通啦~大胃王0既我..就唔係好夠~至於味道呢..好食..個包外層好脆~加上沙律醬同0的蘿蔔絲,有0的汁令個包唔會太乾身..札肉佈滿成個法包..每一啖都食到札肉同沙律..好想食多個..秘製薯條係配上左0的辣粉不過我無食,,唔知味道如何~

We arrived at 12:40 for lunch and ordered right away. Within 10 mins two bowl of noodles arrived. We also ordered the chicken wings, salad, spring roll and the Thai chicken rice. Our 3 year old son wanted the chicken rice, spring rolls and not our noodles so we quickly ate that so that we could feed him when his food came. This place is super busy at lunch. The menu has a good amount of options ranging from banh mi’s to salad to pho. Taste isn’t bad but definitely not very authentic. The drink menu isn’t huge but enough to offer a variety. I’d probably be back to try their other items.

上星期日同媽咪，男朋友去 One Island South 食飯，發現 Golden Monkey 同 Pho Bar crossover 嘅一間餐廳。 餐廳樓底好高，有梳化位、吧台、沙律吧同一個開放式廚房 – 即煮越南湯粉。 呢度係自己填點單紙既，餐牌上有泰式沙律、小食、碟頭飯；Pho Bar 既越南河粉、喇沙同幾種泰式飲品，例如泰式奶茶同珍多冰。我叫咗一份「泰式海南雞飯」。同新加坡既唔同，唔係配黑醬油，而係雞飯醬。泰式雞飯配黄色同粒粒分明既有味雞油飯、炸蒜粒、芫荽；雞肉好嫩滑，分別係雞腿同雞胸部分。雞皮下既脂肪亦唔算多，值得一試。另外，喇沙都超有水準，可選米粉或米線。湯底非常開胃，椰香味唔太重，辛辣度適中，淡淡蝦米香，質地濃稠。米線亦煮得剛剛好，配料有雞蛋，魚片，魷魚圈同大量豆卜，推介推介呀！最後有「日本鹽味薯條」。薯條炸得脆身，以紫菜粉調味，配有三款醬料，包括我最愛既明太子美乃滋醬！我男朋友密密咁食喎，哈哈！

又到lunch時間，今日走左落黃竹坑試新野（不過都唔算新人地都開左一段日子架啦）－ 越南fusion菜午飯時段都算人多可能係星期五既關係，都要等一段時間先可以入坐。就咁睇佢既order紙賣黎賣去都係果幾味所以我就揀左平時少食既泰式香葉炒辣肉碎飯。佢份量好多very good👍🏻仲有碎肉同豆既比例好好每口都好balance，唔會多肉過頭太溜仲要有隻太陽蛋☀️今日真係好滿足。最後見到隔離枱叫左客雞翼所以我地都忍唔住又叫左客秘制雞翼，話明秘制所以真係唔知佢係咩醬，但經過我地既推敲應該可能係沙律醬真係幾好味既仲要係炸底架。總括黎講都唔錯可以一試但價錢就有啲貴羅🤔

平時都唔會黎one island south 下面餐廳食因為貴又唔飽。今日中午難得自己一個落樓下食lunch, 唔同同事食,自己可以靜靜地食個lunch 咁就食好D啦。見到呢間個menu唔貴裝潢又幾好就入去了。唔full所以侍應叫我可以隨便坐。有梳化卡位, 有吧台型的,有普通長型大枱方便大group人或搭枱。裝潢令我諗起以前外國讀書時個dining hall. 自己填紙點單的,配料都係點自己鍾意的,唔鍾意食芫茜葱的朋友一定喜歡呢個方式,唔洗唔記得叫走青! 我自己就鍾意食嘅，所以全部配料都點了。我點了特級越南金邊粉,內有牛柳片,牛腩,牛柏葉和牛展), $83 都幾大碗, 比我想像中大碗啊! 佢個湯好深色好濃牛味, 第一次見到咁深色的湯底。平時食越南河我一定要加甜醬和是拉差醬落個湯度調味的,呢個湯底完全地足料,加上勁多薄荷葉,芫茜等等的香料, 完全不需要其他醬去調味了! 金邊粉煮得很軟,不用咬很多,就是我喜歡那般。牛柳牛展牛腩都很軟,入口即溶的! 很有水準! 好飽好飽值得再來的一家越南餐廳！

This eatery makes me happy every time I visit. The design is clean, stylish and spacious. The menu is not too long or fussy and everything is tasty, fresh and nicely presented. The prices are very reasonable and the serving staff are attentive. The owners obviously know what they are doing. Even the mint water on the tables is a nice touch. Thank you to the Golden Monkey team for giving us locals a really pleasant dining option.

今日行完南朗山，就下山去黃竹坑地鐵站附近食完個午餐，再返屋企休息，其實嗰度都幾少選擇，除咗有一個熟食中心外，就得幾間餐廳！最後我哋就決定食越南野啦！入到餐廳，職員都冇乜禮貌，我地想坐底，但又遲遲都未抹枱豬頸肉河～豬頸肉都幾厚，份量都ok，味道都正常越南春卷～春卷都炸得幾香脆，味道都ok薯條～有三款醬料比你選擇，其他就真係冇咩特別凍檸茶～行完山咁鬼熱就梗係要飲返啲凍嘢啦，但係呢個凍檸茶冇乜味餐廳食物還可以，但係午餐黎講價錢有少少貴，可能係港島區同附近少食肆掛

So glad to have a new restaurant (that is not western food again) in the neighbourhood, as there's not much choices in Wong Chuk Hang areas for us office ladies And the food here is SO good (thou the rice a bit too dry for me.. )The portion of the pork rice dish is so big!!! And super yum you can share with your girl friend and still be full. Comparing to the pork rice, the fillet is just average, the fish meat is too tender, but the lime fish sauce is refreshing.. The minced pork rice is good..

Everything is good with this place. Ingredient is nice including even the noodles but the soup base is still a bit far from the ones I usually have. Perhaps it’s a taste thing as well but the environment and price in this area is unbeatable.

This may become my new go-to-place for comfort food. I love pho and it's not easy to find a good bowl of Vietnamese noodles around HK. The pho here is pretty good, with thick soup, springy noodles, & delicious beef. Service is quick and efficient as waiters collect our filled-in order forms. The environment is clean, spacious and much more comfortable than most pho restaurants in Hk. One minor issue is that I hope there had been more soup. Do give this a try!
