晨早在太古坊附近,看到JUBAL這小店,便食個早餐款式全是西式的,當中比較有興趣是SET C$42,有個EGG BENEDICT WITH SMOKED SALMON,沙律和GRILL 左既蕃茄圖為凍咖啡,味道很濃,奶度一般,這個濃度很醒神,但最主要係支飲管,佢係固意開剩個頭,幾有心思EGG BENEDICT係文了MORNEAY SAUCE,同食開既荷蘭汁既味道有少少按近,都係有少少酸MUFFIN被MORNEAY SAUCE和蛋汁豐富既POACHED EGG浸一浸後十分美味,當然少不了煙三文魚既咸香沙律菜用了醋汁夠清新開胃,但說GRILL過既蕃茄就凍冰冰和不覺GRILL過但旁邊有帶少少焦糖化既洋蔥和薯仔就加了分數以$42蚊來講,係滿足,而且早餐有豐富既菜類,令自己感覺健康

咸香

沙律菜用了醋汁夠清新開胃,但說GRILL過既蕃茄就凍冰冰和不覺GRILL過

但旁邊有帶少少焦糖化既洋蔥和薯仔就加了分數

以$42蚊來講,係滿足,而且早餐有豐富既菜類,令自己感覺健康

這天參加了姨姨工作的公司舉辦的健行活動。地點是大潭水塘。為了讓自己有足夠體力去健行,我早計劃了到集合地點 — 鰂魚涌那邊吃一個豐富早餐。在Openrice搜尋到這間星期六也會早早營業的餐廳 — Jubal。這店子很小。就只有4-5張這些小桌子。米色石牆配合石地磚。牆上掛了數幅畫,佈置簡潔。石牆上的浮雕幾何圖形簡單卻不單調。有八款早餐選擇。其中兩款是素食。我選了左下角的B餐,$32。看樣子很吸引哩!厚多士很有份量,咀嚼下去的感覺很滿足!而且鬆軟又香脆,烘焦的程度剛好。薄薄的牛油已足夠。餐牌上的寫著的烤番茄(我已吃掉了)看不出是烤過的。但番茄汁豐富。如果切厚一點和多一、兩片會更好。番茄不會太貴吧?澆黑醋汁反而不吝嗇。菜不多,吃掉所有菜後還有滿多的黑醋汁剩餘下來。這些菜感覺上不是完全新鮮。或者是冰得久了吧?不是爽脆的。奄列(法式蛋餅)除了蘑菇外,還有冬菇和好像是象拔菇的東西,材料豐富。冬菇很滑,象拔菇口感好。蛋皮很薄,頗滑。餐牌上寫著奄列內有芝士,但我嚐不出來。或許是那些比較味淡的芝士吧。咖啡不算苦,滑喉。但不太嗅到咖啡的香味。不過,對於今天的我來說,睡眠不足下健行,不太濃的咖啡,我的身體會

餐牌上的寫著的烤番茄(我已吃掉了)看不出是烤過的。
但番茄汁豐富。
如果切厚一點和多一、兩片會更好。
番茄不會太貴吧?

澆黑醋汁反而不吝嗇。
菜不多,吃掉所有菜後還有滿多的黑醋汁剩餘下來。
這些菜感覺上不是完全新鮮。
或者是冰得久了吧?
不是爽脆的。

That was my first time to visit this restaurant. 16 of us to celebrate our friends' birthday. Very very small restaurant......We had ordered many food. They have no menu at all. They just cooked whatever they like. Anyway, some food was ok and some food was not ok. After checking the bill of total sum 9,600.00 including 800.00 cockage charge and we had a friend wanted to have one more pcs of ice-cream. He went to the bar and asked the chef who is the boss of that restaurant to get one more pcs o

We were very angry about his manner and said to him that we will never go to his place again in future. However, his anser was : I don't care.... xy@#$%.  Afterward, he tried to clean up our table even though we hvn't finished our dessert and wine.....

That's the ending of our birthday party.....
題外話/補充資料: 打開門口做生意點都不能將自已的脾氣發洩在客人身上。全間餐廳只得3個人,一個清潔,一個 waitress (his wife), boss (chef), 做死自已,搵客人出氣,咁唔開心不如唔好做吧!

第一口我便吃掉了最爽口的蟶子頭,

牛扒很juicy很有肉汁、很嫩滑,
不韌,也沒有筋,
保留到牛肉的肉香。

薯仔控的我很欣賞Jubal的薯仔,
薯仔的外層烤至黃金乾脆,
切開後薯仔芯熱得發燙!
沾上牛肉的醬汁就是很美味的配搭。

梳乎厘發得又鬆又軟,
金黃的外層是香脆的糖衣,
包裹著中間軟棉棉的梳乎厘,
外脆內軟就是這樣簡單。
能嚐到淡淡薑汁味,
而且不會很甜,甜度適中,
很適合香港人的口味。

小店的位置不多,大約六張枱,來臨前是一定要訂座!!
店內的裝橫很有藝術感,也很寧靜。
Jubal的食物水準可以媲美酒店級廚師了,
我很懷疑廚師是出立門戶的前酒店高級廚師

原本還要點一個燒雞的主菜,
聽見老闆娘介紹這裡的雞是新鮮劏,
聽完後雙眼都發光了,
幸好老闆娘及時阻止,恐防我們吃不完。
吃完了這五道菜,我們兩大胃怪都是超飽。
五道菜我都很欣賞,這是一頓很滿足的晚餐。

GOOD POINTS:- I have been trying great breakfast sets at Jubal. I tried the pasta with fresh tomatoes and chicken in soup. The ingredients were so fresh and the chicken was very tasty, most likely marinated. The broth was very tasty, made with fresh basil. It even comes with toast which is guaranteed to make you full.- I like the oatmeal set as well. It's the first time I ever had savory oatmeal and I really like it. It comes with chicken, broccoli, mushrooms and tastes like congee really. - The

GOOD POINTS:
- I have been trying great breakfast sets at Jubal. I tried the pasta with fresh tomatoes and chicken in soup. The ingredients were so fresh and the chicken was very tasty, most likely marinated. The broth was very tasty, made with fresh basil. It even comes with toast which is guaranteed to make you full.
- I like the oatmeal set as well. It's the first time I ever had savory oatmeal and I really like it. It comes with chicken, broccoli, mushrooms and tastes like congee really.
- The set breakfast comes with a drink. I had a cappuccino which was good as well. A good place to have a relaxing breakfast/brunch.
- The waitress is always polite and answers your questions sincerely.
- It's always very clean and hygenic

IMPROVEMENT POINTS:
- Orders occasionally come in late so if you have to go to work at 9am sharp, get take out.
- Some of the chairs are folding chairs and are not that comfortable.
- The place is not too big and the kitchen is a half open one so sometimes my clothes will smell slightly like a kitchen- but only very slightly

SUGGESTIONS:
- Go at 830am on weekdays to get the best sofa seats or to get a seat at all if you can.
- Don't get the banana and cereal set unless you want a really light meal as it's really not that filling.

曾幾何時是一間出色的小店.這就的Crème Brulee聽說也很出色,就試試吧.賣相不錯,可是用表面的焦糖太硬亦厚,用匙也要用點力才可穿破,而燉蛋也過火,老了一點,味道也算香濃,可是質感全錯,令人失望!

Used to live in HK and frequented this restaurant all the time when I wanted first class Modern cuisine.The food that the owner made was world class and as good as anything I would expect from a more expensive modern restautant in any major city in Australia or the US.My wife and I recently went back after 8 years and decided to check it out and was pleased to see Jubal was still there. Used to live in HK and frequented this restaurant all the time when I wanted first class Modern cuisine.
The food that the owner made was world class and as good as anything I would expect from a more expensive modern restautant in any major city in Australia or the US.

My wife and I recently went back after 8 years and decided to check it out and was pleased to see Jubal was still there. As we used to do, we didn't worry about the menu we just asked the chef what was good and got him to recommend a menu based on what we felt like.

Sure enough he came up with an excellent 4 course meal which was just outstanding food. Lobster Bisque was as I remembered it (divine), Hot Smoked (while we waited) Salmon, Home made pasta cooked al dente (so good when your fed up with soggy chinese noodles) and I would say probably the best chicken dish I have ever eaten.

My only wish is that he moved to Australia so I could have a regular place to dine.

如果你係鰂魚涌番工都一定知道好難搵食, 因為有咁多寫字樓係12點至2點搵食真係唔易..呢日我地一行四人諗住試下Jubal呢間店舖有個怪規舉就係你一去到報左幾多人數後, 不可以加人數..點知我地有多個同事黎, 咪即刻同佢講, 我地改5位坐四人枱ok架啦, 點知侍應好緊張話要問下老闆先? (當時諗,多一個人生意都有問題?) 侍應話ok, 不過都要等齊人先準入, 我地係等緊第一張四人枱, 咁我地等左大概25分鐘有兩張四人枱已經ready俾我地入坐, 我地要求俾我地坐近門口那張, 因為我地有5個人, 而門口那張枱比較鬆動, 點知個老闆說, "唔得, 你地未齊人只可以坐入面那張(超迫夾)" 我地同老闆說" 我地都叫左5個餐, 個同事已經黎緊都唔得?" 佢竟然話 " 呢度係咁, 你地唔鍾意可以走"....我地由頭到尾都keep住好好既態度同佢講, 竟然換黎咁既對待, 個一刻好想走, 但係又唔甘心等左咁耐仲要已經一點條街又熱, 再搵第間要起碼一點半先有位, 唯有chok住度氣坐低啦…食物方面:8安士豬扒配薯仔 同蕃茄汁 - $72薯仔 – ok蕃茄汁 – 變左蜜糖芥末醬 (冇人通知)豬扒 – 極度失

was starving after my gym so went this place for breakfast. ordered a hit banana bread with apple butter and muesli set . the banana bread is very nice, can taste the banana favor and surprisingly not heavy at all. muesli is also good with a variety of fruits inside. with slices of fresh apple at side this is the perfect way to start a day. just one thing, don't really enjoy their coffee may be they should think of changing to another one.

行街工作行到嚟呢區.人生路不熟,唯有跟人搵食喇食能署時間真係人山人海,見好多OL食呢間,又跟住人入去.迫得好緊要,四個人的枱,真係櫈貼櫈八吓D OL的辦公室政治先叫左個SET:德國腸薯條伴雜菜(62蚊,應是免加一):本身好怕食西餐,因怕肥仔.但呢度真係唔錯的選擇,肉量適中,伴菜,重有薯茸,味道不濃啱啱好.重有杯飲品.職員好客氣,因見我坐得好迫.同枱三位OL走晒,佢走埋來說"真係唔好意思.要你坐得咁迫"(因我後面個女仔坐得好開,變左我要打側張櫈偏左少少出路口位咁坐.)呢間店係食完有想再食的感覺.食物確實有重FRESH的感覺.不過鰂魚涌太多好嘢食.要試多幾間唔同的推介先.又可以去吓公園HEA,又可以行埋去太古城濕平.太多好嘢食.平貴都有.實在係OL們美食天堂喇.真羨慕.人到中年,QUOTA有限I WILL BE BACK........ (因我後面個女仔坐得好開,變左我要打側張櫈偏左少少出路口位咁坐.)
呢間店係食完有想再食的感覺.食物確實有重FRESH的感覺.

不過鰂魚涌太多好嘢食.要試多幾間唔同的推介先.
又可以去吓公園HEA,又可以行埋去太古城濕平.
太多好嘢食.平貴都有.實在係OL們美食天堂喇.真羨慕.
人到中年,QUOTA有限

我有時都幾鍾意到Jubal食早餐 ^ - ^我最歡食的SET E 早餐 - 蛋白炒蛋加多士因很少炒蛋只用蛋白來炒,無咁高膽固醇!另外有好飽肚的SET H 早餐 - 火腿雞肉蘑菇燕麥片加多士因這個燕麥片不是甜的,而是鹹的,有點兒像西式粥呢!只不過這裡的咖啡就麻麻哋!!!

午飯時間在測魚涌要找間坐得舒服的餐廳進食真不容易, 這一間也不例外, 全程由等位開始已經感受到店員很緊張, 在窗外望一望已經走出來問 "是不是兩位?", 回答 "是", 但餐廳位置已全爆, 於是店員叫我們先選菜, 選好後等了約5分鐘便安排了位置, 坐下約3分鐘其中一份午餐已經上檯, 再等3分鐘另外一份都搞掂... 差不多喝完餐茶, 店員已遞上賬單, 俾錢找錢, 好快完成了整頓午飯, 加埋等位約25分鐘~~ 著重效率的朋友絕對會欣賞!!講返食先, 點了兩份午餐 龍脷柳配薯菜 和 炒肥牛肉配炒飯跟雜菜沙拉.龍脷柳好一般的水準, 薯角幾香口; 炒牛肉類似韓式炒法, 味道一般, 炒飯... 無乜好提...總括來說是一餐很普通很普通的午飯, 無期望無失望.

I submitted my review on 10 Jan and openrice did not approve nor reject it, just left it pending. I am not sure what that meant. So I am having a go again. This is the review I previously submittedeople said the food was good. i tend to disagree. People said the food was good. i tend to disagree. It was aceptable but I would not put it under the "good" category. i had lunch earlier this week there and the food was going cold when it was served. it wasn't that they took a long time to serve, but somehow it felt like it was left in the open for a while before it got to the table. I guessed they pre-cooked everything and had no time to re-heat properly during the busy lunch time.
As to service, people here said it was terrible, and I agree100%. Yes, it is a small place, and they have one person serving only, and they want to do as much as business as possible during the peak hours. I can understand all this, but the sort of attitude you get from the waitress is just outrageous. As a minimum, I expect to be spoken to politely. this waitress was rude and even refused to serve desserts as they had people waiting outside. Desserts were clearly isted in the menu,and she just said "no desserts".
Some eateries in HK get away with a bad service and can be famous for that, but these eateries are institutions and well known for the food they serve, and people are willing to put up with a bad service for the food.
As to Jubal, you are nowhere near there yet, so i for sure will not return.

看過其他人的意見,說他的服務不好...如果有到過舖頭,都知道那兒地方是很小的。地方淺窄,難免擠迫些。而鰂魚涌的lunch time 是極多人的。所以,雖然地方小,但因為好吃和鰂魚涌本身人多的關係,那兒在12:45pm 至 1:30pm 絕對是「全院滿座」。要注意的是,那兒只有一位,無錯是只有一位服務員負責6張枱的所.有.樓.面.工.作。所以o麻,有時難免有點招待不週又或是請人離開...人家打開門,當然想做多幾轉生意。
