The least I can say is that we wanted to flee the restaurant right after the starter and we had to resist leaving before the end of the dinner.

At first, soup of the day. Don't know what kind of soup it was but it smelt and tasted like sour Chinese medicine soup...we left 3/4 of it.
We were also given a flat bread that is supposed to be schiacciatina (bread with tomato, herbs and salt). After two bites, we stopped there cause the cook had put enough salt to kill an elephant.

Then, came the starter: Beef carpaccio with salad. Beef was tasteless and salad was the consolation.

It was followed by the highlight of the menu: pasta with white truffle and chicken liver cream...Well we are still looking for the truffle and chicken cream because all we had was a lot of pasta only topped with a heavy cream that could have been bought in a metal can for HKD 10 at Wellcome.

The show went on...Mini T-Bone steak with vegetable, or should I have called it Mini tasteless Steak, Maxi size T-Bone.
Steak was as thin as the carpaccio but the Tbone was the size of my shinbone.

We held on until the dessert, finally, the cherry on the top of the cake!!
Panna Cotta for my wife, Zabaglione for me.
The Panna Cotta was 1/3 the size of my Iphone 5, the raspberry sauce was terribly sour and the whole was as tasty as the back of my hand.
The Zabaglione was a spoon of whipped cream and a piece of swollen biscuit that stayed too much open air out of its box.

All along, we hurried so much that the dinner lasted less than 45 min. A record for a 6-course dinner!
Of course, this restaurant will NEVER EVER see us again and I recommend everybody to avoid it at all costs.

What's the point of serving huge portions when the food is terrible?I had chicken with mushroom and cream sauce, which was OK but not brilliant. he presentaiton was very poo r and cost $169. What shocked me was that the mashed potato it came with was instant mash. Inflation is coming, but finding a good quality restaurant with economy price in Central seems not to be a big question. Arriving there, we recognized it's been 1, so we looked for a nice dining for lunch. We walked from Central to Lan Kwai Fong, then to Stanuton Street, which was the heart of SOHO, finally we chose this Italian restaurant.
Actually when I had a look at the menu, the thing that surprised me the most was the price. Located in SOHO, I could hardly imagine how did this restaurant survive (I mean the cost might be even higher than the price). So we decided to have a try. My dad and I each got a beef, with salad and soup ($88) being as the side order. My mom preferred to have something light, so she ordered a pasta with seafood ($88+10).
I really enjoyed such ambiance, quiet, cosy with dim lighting, which reminded me of traveling to Europe in the past. In fact, I really enjoyed studying or relaxing in such atmosphere, especially when I felt sad. After sitting down, talking, enjoying, our set lunch came. First, it's our bread. The bread tasted like the ones in Western surpermarket, with sliced onions topped on the bread. Then, it's my salad. Nothing special, but the taste was not bad at all. Next, my beef. Oops... why didn't the waitress ask how would I like it done? Perhaps it's not a traditional steakhouse. But my steak was quite tasty, I could taste the tenderness of my beef. Every slice mixed with side veggies, moderating the sense of meaty and bulkiness. After, there's my hot coffee and finally my desert. The desert tasted kinda like pavlova, a common desert in New Zealand. I really loved the combination of creaminess and crumby. Haha!
Overall, this Italian cuisine was really worth trying, particularly in a Saturday/Sunday afternoon. If there's a magazine, newspaper or fiction, it sounds better.

這間位置隱蔽的餐廳,除了室內座位外,室外也有一些露天座位,坐在外面用膳,其實也不錯,不過這天天氣較熱,所以最終還是選了在室內的座位吃午餐,誰不知這裡其中的一部空調因為故障正在維修中
,所以冷氣不大夠,結果初時還是坐得身水身汗
,要再過好一會才感到較為涼快


這裡的燈光不知是否想要製造一點浪漫的情調關係,是比較昏暗的。

這天光顧,我們的座位就在水吧附近,正好看見這裡的多位侍應,全是外籍人士,而且餐牌也只得英文和意大利文,完全沒有任何中文,要是有客人不懂英語,又來到幫襯的話,來這裡吃飯可真有點不方便呢!

看看餐牌,這裡的午餐其實不算貴,價錢全部都只在$100左右,以中環區的意大利餐廳來說,算是合理價了。

叫了兩個午餐。先來的是「是日餐湯」和隨餐湯附上的麵包。這天的「是日餐湯」是材料頗為豐富的「海鮮湯」,也許因為這湯的材料的確幾多,下了不少海鮮在裡面煮成的關係,湯味甚為濃郁鮮甜,是一碗頗為好喝的餐湯

老婆仔叫的則是「Slices of Beef Loin topped with Fontina Cheese and Cooked Ham」。這牛腰肉與芝士、火腿的配搭也不錯,牛腰肉嫩,加上濃味的芝士和陪襯的火腿,味道頗佳
,伴菜的薯仔也見好吃。

本來吃到這裡,對這家餐廳的評價是頗高的,只可惜跟著來到的兩道甜品都是失望之作,卻立刻拉低了整間餐廳的分數。

先說「Italian Pudding」。這意大利布甸賣相雖然不錯,但是口感卻怪怪的,似是由米製成,又有奶的成分,可是吃來卻只覺其甜,不覺其好,令人失望

另一道甜品Home Made Zabaglione」的質素同樣未能令人滿意。賣相幾近與前一道甜品同出一轍,這以蛋白、砂糖、葡萄酒等材料做成,帶有一點點酒味的的意大利甜點,質感鬆軟,不算太甜,加上淋在碟邊的朱古力汁,味道較意大利布甸為佳,但仍未能成為my cup of tea

要非這兩道質素強差人意的甜品扣減了分數,這家意大利餐廳的味道分應該可以拿到4分,可是在加上甜品的分數後,卻只剩下3分而已。希望下次有機會再來吃飯的話,可以只吃其他東西,不吃甜品

Three of us visited this cosy Italian restaurant, which from the outside looked like a pleasant family-style Italian joint. We ordered pizza with 4 cheeses, risotto with parmesan and a salad, plus glasses of the house wine. The wine was acceptable but the rest of the meal was very disappointing. In decending order... the salad was a few leaves and one cut-up pallid tomato, plus a few shavings of parmesan. $75 seemed like a lot to pay for this. The complimentary bread was a few toasted slices of what seemed like supermarket baguette. The risotto was a bland, overcooked mush, somewhat like baby food. It tasted as if the rice had been cooked the day before and then combined with some kind of white sauce. Very nasty. The worst dish however was the pizza. It arrived covered with some kind of transparent slime. This turned out to be a RAW EGG!

When we complained about the food to the staff we were told that this was in fact completely authentic Italian food. Raw egg on a pizza - yeah, right. We felt the staff were quite rude. We insisted on speaking to the Italian manager, who at first reiterated the staff's assertions, and then after we questioned him repeatedly about how the food had been cooked, admitted that the mushy tateless "risotto" and the raw egg pizza had not been properly cooked. He was however unwilling to give us more than a 20% discount, offering instead to give us more food - the last thing we wanted!

This is not an expensive restaurant compared to many in the area, but we felt that we had been ripped off - even with the discount, we paid more than $300 for food that was downright bad. That's a lot of money for really terrible food and service. And beware, there is a sister restaurant in Wanchai!

想食 pasta, 朋友又介紹呢度的 pizza「幾好食」, 是日收工食 lunch 就上嚟試試吧. 對 "special" 中的 gnocchi / ravioli set 興趣不大, 最後叫了「普通」set lunch, 有 soup / or salad, main, dessert 及 coffee/tea.

是日 soup 係 "bean soup": 內有大量紅蘿蔔, 西芹, 及好似係 red kidney beans? 賣相及味道都似足「多豆」版 minestrone, 味道尚算清甜, 不過飲完印象唔深而已.


主食揀了 linguine alla marinara ($98)... 配料有蜆 (大 / 細都有), 蝦, 小型蟶子 (係咪叫 Pacific razor clam?) 及小型瀨尿蝦, d 蝦幾甜, 不過小型蟶子多沙又多碎殼, 大蜆有點韌, 蜆仔就超韌, 瀨尿蝦則無味道, 百份百好睇多過好食; 而最好食就係 marinara 汁, 帶新鮮蕃茄的清甜又有「海鮮湯」的鮮香, 加埋陣陣 basil 香, 配上質地未算 al dente, 不過煮得滑身又算有咬口的 linguine, 結果又清了碟.


試了一啖朋友的 pizza margherita ($88), 即最「基本」嗰隻... crust「堅挺」薄脆, 芝味香而不膩, 連 tomato sauce 都係帶甜而非酸嗆茄膏的 或 ketchup, 好食喎.


是日甜品 #1 係 homemade zabaglione: 食過 zabaglione 味的 gelato, zabaglione 反而第一次食, 呢度的近乎「流質」, 賣相「一 pat 嘢」的, 食落帶輕輕的酒味及蛋味 (?), 甜度剛好, 配上夠「朱古力」的 chocolate sauce, 味道可以; 不過面頭舊餅 (係咪叫 Savoiardi biscuit?) 就又硬又韌, 認真大煞風景


是日甜品 #2 Italian pudding 就幾難食: 質地「膠」到呢
, 我食緊港式「布丁」? 面頭的 strawberry sauce 落得太多, 認真篤眼篤鼻
雖然味道唔算太假, 但實在幾酸, 呢碟我食一啖就放棄了.


最後來杯熱咖啡, 唔算好香, 齋飲就夠濃, 不過幾苦, 可幸唔澀; 奉上熱奶
, 而咖啡本身又咁苦, 當然要落多 d 奶.


每人約 $102, 再來的話應該只會食 pizza 了 -- 不過見 menu 上又有 spaghetti aglio e olio 供應

應該唔會再去喇。
雖然服務環境大致okay,因食物著實無甚驚喜。(可能太mean的comment。)

I went to La Piazzetta tonight with a few friends and it was disappointing - food and service.After we sat down, the waiter quickly took my drink order. Without having the time to look through the drink list, I ordered a cup of warm water as it was quite chilly that evening. The waiter looked at me and gave me the impression that she wasn't happy with my order of water. First of all, the bread was unappetizing - dry and cold. I went to La Piazzetta tonight with a few friends and it was disappointing - food and service.

First of all, the bread was unappetizing - dry and cold. My friends and I usually like bread but we didn't have any tonight.

We ordered 3 appetizers to share - parma ham + melon, an eggplant dish in some kind of tomato sauce and a mixed green salad. We almost finished them, not that the appetizers were delicious but only we were hungry.

The salad didn't come with any dressing so I asked the waiter for it. She pointed me to use the vinegar and olive oil that were supposed to be for the bread. It felt as if we were in a fast food restaurant where we mix and match the condiments that are already on the table.

Two of my friends ordered a beef dish and a pasta ragout. They said the mains were so-so. My other friend and I ordered seafood linguine. The dish was huge and looked great with loads of prawns and clams. Both of us were impressed when we saw it. But when I took a first bite of the pasta I could feel many grains of SAND in it - and I haven't eaten any of the shellfish yet !

My other friend tried it and said the same so we decided to call the waiter and check with her. Consistent with the level of service from the start of the meal, she wasn't very helpful and questioned our comments. She then had to call her boss and reluctantly they took the pasta dishes away. We forced them to let us select another pasta dish. In order not to take any more risk, we decided to order another simple pasta dish this time and without seafood. We ended up just ordering linguine with mushroom in tomato sauce. Its the same tomato sauce as the eggplant appetizer and the pasta ragout that my other friend ordered.

Since the food and the service was so disappointing, we didn't order any dessert.

It's amazing that a restaurant that does not wash its seafood thoroughly and has such nonchalant service has managed to stay open.

Last of all, the singing was terrible, even disturbing. The only acceptable song was "Happy Birthday"

And overall the restaurant is not very clean.

One of my friends who was also disappointed with this meal said it was much worse than the last time she went. The food was no longer as refined as before. We decided not to return again.

與好友鎖定這店,可惜一直拖拖拉拉個多月,終於在偶然的一個星期六下一試。這間與soho區的餐廳大致差不多,地方細細,侍應都是外籍人士,唯一有別的是沒有餐前的麵包。我們只叫兩款意粉,打算留肚主攻甜品。如menu上有Carbonara,是我們必叫的。這裡的Carbonara賣相不太討好,有點馬虎。味道方面芝士蛋汁濃郁,可惜略鹹。而意粉煮法有咬口,但未致是al dente。另一款是茄汁雜菌長通粉,香草味過濃,有點蓋過茄汁味,所謂雜菌應該只得一種牛肝菌。與好友習慣叫三款甜品,其中一款必定是雪榚,可惜今次這間沒有,而且menu中大約有著十款甜品,大多已沒有或已沽清。只叫了Tiramisu及panna cotta。當我們食完Tiramisu後,侍應才通知panna cotta在中午時沽清,令到好友非常失望。而Tiramisu有著淡淡的咖啡香,Marscarpone cheese好幼滑,軟硬度適中,不過太過濕潤缺乏芝士味,或太過硬身口感過溜。

I had dinner with a friend there. The restaurant was too small and we were unable to sit comfortably. We ordered a salad, a main couse (beef) and a pizza, none of which was tasty, but cost HK$ 400. never go again >.<

奇怪如此餐廳開在如此一巷,瞄瞄餐牌見有兔肉pasta,奇怪得意。沒有天空的露天茶座,還是店內雅座合心意,又設有live band,看來愈夜愈精彩。想吃兔肉卻sold out,換了海鮮番茄linguini,沙律、餐湯選了後者。餐包與貌似minestrone的湯物同上,「貌似」是因為稀如飲菜水、肉粒與菜水各具性格,味道卻是各自各精彩。 一刀一叉夠casual,長而方方扁扁的linguini浸在茄海中,茄海稀薄的茄味提鮮不足,味道與中蝦、帶子、賴尿蝦等海鮮格格不入,如牛頭夾馬面,怪形怪相,可幸是分量十足,單吃大堆頭的海鮮也夠飽上半天。至於linquini,聽說是hand made的,表面夠滑但不夠實淨,芯位的澱粉質即吃即「化」,失望。

本來想去taco loco,但記得上次個7-layer nacho 要兩個人先食得晒,就行前多幾步,去未試過o既La PiazzettaOrder o左個set lunch (抵d)... 頭盤係salad,主菜揀o左個beef stew (bcos 突然想食牛),& teasalad 十分漂亮,look like a 食人花...lovely有茄子﹑青椒﹑洋蔥﹑蕃茄...a bit oily...但幾香,又無燒焦見到主菜時...好disappointed,賣相o吾吸引d beef overcooked o左,ok韌... sauce 又只係普通o既tomato plus potatoes...fine...成場有史上最年輕餐廳鋼琴家o係到專心演奏,食咩都值o拉

今天的沙律是普通的green salad﹐菜都新鮮爽脆﹐但就連沙律汁都沒有落﹐要自己加橄欖油和醋。對我這怕胖的人來說是好的﹐但相信不是人人可以接受到喇﹗

Pizza 可以從餐牌中選﹐沒有限制﹐好呀﹗我要了個Pizza with Prosciutto and arugula rocket﹐prociutto 是大片大片的鋪在上面﹐賣相好一般﹐不過味道就一流。看以為是普通的一個pizza﹐原來這麼好味。那個底造得幾薄﹐烘到幾脆(個邊) 又煙韌(個底)﹐是我最喜歡的口感。那個番茄汁底不似一般的酸酸地﹐第一啖咬下那甜味已經充滿了我的味蕾﹐很想立即再咬一啖﹐試真那個味道。第二啖則發現除了那甜味外還有一鼓淡淡的檸檬香味﹐很特別的配搭。第一次吃到這個味道的pizza﹐立即和朋友們share 喇﹐個個都很喜歡呢﹗

其他的pasta 和grilled fish 主菜都做得不錯。Pasta 夠彈牙﹐蒜香加微辣﹐很惹味﹔燒魚的肉質嫩而有彈性﹐不過略嫌味道淡了點。

後加的Tiramisu 是全餐的焦點﹐好creamy 好香cheese 味。老闆親自來為我們加添了一些甜品餐酒﹐說是送的(真的是送的﹐因為隔離那檯是沒有的啊)﹐那甜甜的酒香令整個甜品生色不少﹐是近期少有的好甜品﹗就為這個tiramisu 就一定要再回去光顧啦﹗

周六,約了舊拍檔聽她說近來的麻煩事,想找處靜靜的地方傾一下。這裡隱藏在俊榮里,很有小店風味,裝修又不差,來傾計飲野食飯都適合。來的時候只一檯洋人客,吃至中段,已經是包場。午市餐牌分兩邊,有自家製的tortellini,及8選1的意粉或肉類的主菜,都不大喜歡tortellini,就分別要了簡單的炒意粉Spaghetti Aglio Olio及牛仔肉Scaloppine。先來的麵包是兩塊烘熱的法包,烘得香脆,醮上橄欖油及黑醋也好吃,之後也添友了兩件去解決白酒汁;前菜要了餐湯及沙律各一,餐湯是青豆蓉湯,豆蓉隔得不算清,還有青豆的外皮在,但都算幾真材實料,味道也調得不錯的;沙律是吞拿魚青菜沙律,勝在清清地,全讓了給幾時都在廋身的舊拍檔;主菜擺放得幾簡單,可能只是午市的原故。我的牛仔肉,聞到香甜的白酒味,未吃已知不會很差。牛仔肉打得夠軟,口感軟腍,肉味亦香濃,加上Masala白酒,幾有水準。伴碟的是一大埋薯蓉,將其換來了不少的炒意粉。意粉也炒得不錯,只簡單的用蒜蓉及乾香草去炒,聞落幾香,吃落又不油膩,意粉又夠咬口,也都吃得過。見隔離檯叫的海鮮意粉也幾大堆頭,帶子、青口、蝦、蜆等配料也落足,下次來
