Food-wise the restaurant has delicious food but I felt cheated when (I think) the owner was ordering drinks for us.He was very eager to sell us a bottle of wine. We decided not to have it because it was too expensive. So I asked for water, and he ONLY offered choices of sparking and still. Without knowing that still isn't tap water, I chose to have it. When the bill came, the tiny bottle of water costed us almost $70, which was utterly unreasonable. Then he came around to tell me if I had asked

He was very eager to sell us a bottle of wine. We decided not to have it because it was too expensive. So I asked for water, and he ONLY offered choices of sparking and still. Without knowing that still isn't tap water, I chose to have it.

When the bill came, the tiny bottle of water costed us almost $70, which was utterly unreasonable. Then he came around to tell me if I had asked for water or hot water, those would be free of charge. But that was exactly what I asked for. I felt cheated and even if the food is acceptable, I will never return here because of the service.

There are a wide selections of cold cut, ham, cheese, and seafood. Among all, I liked their seafood especially the prawns the most because they were firm in texture filled with rich sea water taste!

Grilled salmon fillet with fennel puree

The salmon fillet was really generous in size and served with a few slices of fresh cucumber and dark green fenne puree which was a nice complement to the fishy omega-3 healthy salmon fillet!

Margherita PizzaMy friend ordered a pizza but I guess I was too drunk to remember to name. The thin crust pizza was spread with tomato sauce which was sweet and fresh in taste that's all I can tell from the bottom of my heart. Meanwhile, the cheese gave a nice touch to the pizza with its natural savouriness, complemented with some herby flavourful leaves on top. My friend ordered a pizza but I guess I was too drunk to remember to name. Tiramisu

Their tiramisu has a everything a tiramisu should have including the taste of rum, espresso, cream, with sponge cakes in between.

Pear Sorbet

Their housemade sorbet had a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. Sorbet is my kind of light and digestive dessert to have after any dinner.

Chocolate Lava Cake

As a chocolate lover, I also liked their chocolate lava cake which had a runny centre. The outer layer had a nice crunch while the centre was runny and moist. The molten chocolate sauce just oozed out as soon as I cut into it. Yum!

Insalata Caprese ($118)

A dish to test for fresh ingredient, Sole Mio passed it! Their tomato and the bufala mozzarella were so fresh and were served with fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil and black olives. Nothing is better than this authentic Italian salad as a starter for a lovely meal.

Pizza

Sole Mio ($158)

A thin crust pizza with four cheese (parmesan, gorgonzola, zozzarella, fontina) with salami ventricina, and rucola. This pizza surprised us a little bit. We thought it would simply be a salami rocket pizza with tomato sauce. It was actually really rich in cheese flavour and it complemented really well with the spicy salami ventricina. Surprisingly, there is no tomato sauce at all! All the flavours were from the cheese, old cuts, and the fresh rockets.

Linguine Alle Vongole ($158)

Linguine pasta served with clams with white wine sauce. The pasta was definitely al denti and rightly seasoned. The pasta was has a hint of good clam flavour, topped with fresh parsley, along with a subtle white wine taste it to. It really reminded me of the same dish I had when I went to a small restaurant in an alley in Venice, Italy.

Filetto Al Pepe Verde ($258)

Charcoal grilled USA beef tenderloin served with green pepper sauce, sided with new potatoes, green and yellow zucchinis and French beans. The medium-rare steak was cooked with fresh rosemary, that's what made it so fragrant. What's more? The green pepper sauce gave the dish a unique taste with its sweet and slight spiciness. We really wish there are more dishes using green pepper sauce because it is really good!

How can a Italian dinner finish without a good old tiramisu? The alcoholic authentic tiramisu was light and smooth.

UVA Bombetta ($68)

We had also tried something very special and different. They were dynamite grapes, fermented in grappa alcohol. We thought they were green and black olives but then they were actually seedless green and purple grapes. The infused grapes were very very strong in grappa after being soaked for three months.

Sole Mio not only offers nice a la carte dinner but also happy hour with half price drinks, perfect for summer days to stay indoor with nice air-con.

Moreover, weekend brunch would be a great options too to have some relaxing time after a long week. For $168, you may enjoy a semi-buffet with all you can eat cold cuts, seafood, and more, plus a main course, dessert/tea or coffee. What a bargain!
