RECOMMENDED: A handful of Thais run this "hole in the wall" restaurant. Located in Central, restaurants here tend to be a bit higher in price but Tuk Tuk is a great value with reasonable prices.Things can get a bit hectic during the busy hour and service is likely to suffer. This is my first visit here and I went in the early evening, still there was a decent crowd. But I was promptly seated and ordered two dishes to start. It appeared that most of the patrons were enjoying their food from what I could observe.
I had a classic Papaya green salad and I would say it was one of the best I've had. The dish screamed freshness and it was definitely spicy. I also had the black pepper shrimp which had a nice peppery taste amongst an assortment of vegetables.
Physically, this is a hole in the wall place, very casual and not a place for date night or a business meeting nor are you going to linger there half the night sipping drinks. You're going here for the food.
This is a return spot for me.
NOTE: Cash only. They will accept reservations.
