After trying out a few Italian Restaurants, including the over-priced Da Domenico and various others, my favourite restaurant in town so-far remains 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo. Unfortunately, the quality of Italian cuisine in town are so low indeed, one wonders whether the chefs have fallen asleep or underestimated the demands by local Hongkongers waiting for a better Italian meal.8 1/2 Otte e Mezzo has been the only restaurant which made each of it's dishes perfectly so far, something you take for granted but somehow can't realize in real life when you visit! The Lamb was cooked perfectly indeed, albeit slightly boring with the garnitures. The White Truffle dish was also executed well, but the truffles quality on that day was suspect.
One wonders whether we're going to see the light at the end of the tunnel 1 day, and find really top quality Italian fare in our city.
