To decide on a dinner venue, I had a quick taste test @ 富豪軒 (Regal Court) during the April’s ½ price promotion on their signature dishes. Overall the quality was acceptable and with 1/2 price it was a bargain. What we tried include: 杏汁燉白肺: No almond taste at all and the lungs were not tender nor cleaned well. Not good蜜燒金錢雞 : 8 JUMBO pieces (about 1.5x the size @ 得龍) Orig$118 Now$59. Very cheap! The quality was only ok though. Good chicken livers but the pork fat layer (冰肉) was too fatty and not

杏汁燉白肺: No almond taste at all and the lungs were not tender nor cleaned well. Not good
蜜燒金錢雞 : 8 JUMBO pieces (about 1.5x the size @ 得龍) Orig$118 Now$59. Very cheap! The quality was only ok though. Good chicken livers but the pork fat layer (冰肉) was too fatty and not roasted long enough to extract greasy mouthfeel. Worth trying if you want cheap 金錢雞 as it's even cheaper than 燒臘鋪.
茶皇雞: This one was pretty good with strong smoky flavor and nicely seasoned skin. The meat was tender even for the white meat, but a bit mushy in texture (probably due to frozen chicken). Recommended during ½ price offer.
金華戈渣: This was interesting because the inside was like a milk / soup custard and then deep-fried (similar to deep-fried milk炸奶). The creamy custard was smooth and silky with bits of Yunnam ham so it's savory and sweet at the same time. Good if you haven't tried it before and as an appetizer.
脆皮牛坑腩: this one was alright with the beef briskets being very tender. The texture was like shredded beef when you bite in, a bit dry but flavorful nevertheless. The accomppanied curry sauce was extremely poor (worse than Cafe de Carol) and should not be served at all.
水煮魚: Very spicy and fish was silky and tender despite lack of freshness itself. Recommended.
One vegetable dish (Eggplant with Seaweed) : Very good. Bold flavor and innovative combination. Recommended.
Free desserts of tong siu were offered and they were all quite standard.
Overall there were some decent dishes and some ok ones. With all the food for 4 people it was only $160/head (incl. service charge, no alcohol). Their whole peking duck is only $304 which also seems to be a pretty deal.
I think this place is good for small group dinner particularly with the 1/2 price promotion in back in April. On the other hand, I don't think the dishes have any wow effect or are worth for a big dinner gathering. Despite the heavy advertising of the chef and his featured traditional dishes(古法傳統菜), as well as being 陳志雲飯堂, I found this place to be more hype than real materials.
Decision made: Move on to next one.
(The price included the 1/2 price offers in April for most of the dishes)
