My friend felt like Vietnamese and with the smattering of Viet choices in Sheung Wan this was the first place we walked past! Not my first choice (I love pho26) but alas! We walked in and sat down, my friend went to the bathroom and I was hastily grunted at by a waitress.. I hadn't even looked at the menu yet so I politely asked if I could have another minute.. When my friend got back we proceeded to order from a lady who stood an awkward distance away, I didn't even realise she was taking our order till my friend asked me what I wanted! I ordered the shredded chicken pho.. At only 38 dollars it was a bargain! My friend got the rice vermicelli with shredded chicken..
The meals came out quite promptly! Which was a definite plus in my books! They were pretty quite and my pho came out as just chicken and noodles.. No sprouts or lime! No mint! There was some chilli's chopped up in a jar on the table.. I slurped some soup first to see if it needed anything.. It was pretty bland so I added the chilli and requested some lime, with a grunt the lady wandered into the back and came out with a basket of sprouts, some mint and limes! In under a minute they were piled in and the pho tasted sooooo much better!
My friends vermicelli looked quite good and she said it tasted good as well! There were lots of vegetables which I loved about it! Vegetables are the best!! However the spring rolls were another story all together! They were burnt and black.. They didn't look appetising at all!!! Such a pity! But maybe a bad day?
All in all it wasn't a bad meal.. Maybe I just wasn't feeling it! I'd give it another go but mainly because for the price tag you got such a large amount of food!
Would I recommend it? If pho26 was full..
