Keeping with the "indulge but make smarter choices" theme, we headed to 2/3 Dolci (just 2 - 3 minutes away) for dessert after our dinner at Beef & Liberty.I consider this a "smarter choice" given 2/3 Dolci, as its name suggests, uses just two thirds of the regular amount of sugar in its offerings. We ordered two desserts, both part of the Easter series:Nocciola ($42) - this was really just 2/3 Dolci's regular triple hazelnut crunchy cake, but topped with a chocolate easter egg rather than mini ma

We ordered two desserts, both part of the Easter series: Nocciola ($42) - this was really just 2/3 Dolci's regular triple hazelnut crunchy cake, but topped with a chocolate easter egg rather than mini macaron or nuts. The easter egg was a nice touch, having a thin and crisp exterior and a rich dark chocolate flavour - and added another layer of indulgence to the smooth, creamy hazelnut mousse cake. Coniglio ($46) - this was a strawberry mousse encased over mixed berries sauce. The addition of chocolate "eyes", "nose" and "ears" transformed the package into a cute easter bunny - which actually made it slightly disturbing to cut open and eat! However, that aside, the flavouring was spot on - the mixed berries sauce was tart, with just enough sugar added so it was not overly sour. The crispy biscuit base at the bottom also complemented the smooth mousse casing well. The desserts were a bit on the petite side, but at the end of the day, it isn't "volume" that satisfies a craving -- it's taste. And 2/3 Dolci definitely hits the spot.
