If Hong Kong were France, this would be considered "a nice place with good food in the suburbs." The decor is attractive, the staff friendly and cooperative and the food itself is really very good. -- A lovely aromatic hunk of flavorful foie fras (the preserved kind, not the fresh).
-- A "brandade de morue" (salt cod with mashed potatoes) that had just the right combination of fish, potato and olive oil to make it scrumptious
-- A whole-chicken fricassee, served on rice (for two people), which would have been large enough for three, with a lovely meaty chicken and a tasty wine sauce.

Speaking of wine, wine list is also a pleasure to peruse, with very reasonable prices for half-liter carafes (great for dining as a couple.)

It's unusual to find a place like this outside of the usual fine dining districts. Prices are more moderate than in Central or SoHo, though not really cheap -- we paid $900 for our dinner, including a carafe of wine. Well worth the excursion, and if you live on that end of the island, you should definitely be giving them a try.
