Beyond Coffee & Bar is the latest coffee shop to open in the Yiu Wa Street area. An area that was once known for bars have no sprouted up a number of coffee shops. As this was new, I decided to give it a try.The cafe is a bluish green color. There is a small space for outside seating. Inside is quite spacious with plenty of tables.Menu is in English only. I ordered the Mandarin Coffee ($58) which the staff said was their signature. Plus a coworker informed me ahead of time that this was good. And she was right. It was excellent. I've had an orange coffee before in another place but this was far better. Like a hit of sunshine with the orange juice but not enough to cover the espresso base.
They did have pastries but no cake. I simply love cake so this is the next closest thing. A Mixed Fruit and Yogurt Toast ($58). It came with a side of salad that was actually dressed. Impressed. The toast was a slightly toasted but the bread still soaked up the yogurt. There was a drizzle of honey. The fruit was fresh. The yogurt had a creamy tartness. I loved it and it was very healthy.
Relaxing seating with decent food and coffee. Will definitely be back.
