Located on Elgin Street in Central, Baked is a chic cafe that services amazing sandwich and coffee for breakfast/brunch/lunch.My friend and I were seated at the bar table, which allowed us to see the kitchen. I love bar table seats (although it was a bit warm at the beginning when the air con was not switched on), as I could always entertain myself by looking at how the chefs work their magic to prepare food. My friend and I were seated at the bar table, which allowed us to see the kitchen. I love bar table seats (although it was a bit warm at the beginning when the air con was not switched on), as I could always entertain myself by looking at how the chefs work their magic to prepare food. And it’s no exception this time, the chefs did amaze us when preparing the open sandwich with steak. I saw him did it for three times, and each time I was wowed. Grilled cheese open sandwich followed by steak, mushroom, caramelised onions and rocket. It’s like a food jenga.

We ordered two plates to share. This is my Peri Peri Chicken Liver (Gravy Train) with poached egg and coriander on sourdough pan fried in garlic butter. I am never an animal organs fan when it comes to food, so I didn’t know what drove me to order this one, maybe the peri peri? Yet, it was amazingly good! The chicken liver definitely tasted like animal organ (if you know what I mean), which could be hard to accept by some, but the peri peri sauce made it much enjoyable to eat with. Also, the hearty sourdough was so deliciously pan fried with garlic butter! Nom Nom! Not to miss out the poached egg, which I dipped the toasties in before placing the peri peri chicken liver on top to eat.

This Open Steak Sandwich (Main Laanie - Big Boss) is another fantastic one. It was made with sirloin, mature cheddar cheese on grilled sourdough, caramelised onions, mushrooms and rocket. Everything was cooked right to the point and so delicious! And they match with each other so well! The medium rare steak slices were so flavored and tender. The mushrooms were so juicy. Caramelised onions? Perfect! Best of all, grilled cheese sourdough.
Oh my good, after having this foodgasm, I decided to visit again to try out all items on the menu!
