I went to this place with my family three years ago to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were quite impressed with their food (about HKD600/head), especially the fish Maw steak. So, I called again three weeks ago trying to book a table to celebrate my father in law's birthday in early October.
The first three times I called, however, the phone was forwarded to one of their staff mobile number. Instead of jotting down my info, she just told me that their main line was busy and I have to call again. I called for another 3 times before somebody answer the phone. After noting down my info, the lady told me that I need to go to their website to read their menu and call back to confirm the booking. Then, I called again to confirm and tell them about my preferred dishes ($632/head). I also asked about the addition cost for having the classic Fish Maw Steak dish that I had before. The lady replied me one week later that it'd cost another $2000 per person for just that dish. Meanwhile, she informed me that they might not be able to serve me on date that of my reservation, as there might be a party. She still waited for their confirmation. She promised to call me soon to confirm that. So, I waited and waited but no one call me back. So, I called again five days before my reservation to ask about it. Then, the same lady replied that, "Oh, that's right, we cannot serve you on that date because we're fully booked for another party." I asked why didn't she let me know earlier so that I can rearrange my plan. She just said, "Oh, I've just got their confirmation that's all."
Honestly, I really doubt about the sincerity of her words and willingness to have my business. Had I didn't check with her again, she'd never bother to call me back. It seems like she doesn't care about the business, not to mention making the effort to retain return customer. Given getting such a lousy service from their staff. I'd never go back again. So are my friends and families.
