Lately, I have been fascinated by a new bread hub. TOP POT BAKERY is the name. I have heard good things about TOP POT, but when I got there I was surprised by its size. Wow! It was big and classy. The first time I visited, there was not much selection left as I came after 7pm. So I randomly picked something. I am usually not so keen on jujube, but the bread's jujube-based cream was alright. I could take that, but not the fruit which you can see in the middle. The bread was soft and had some fill
I am usually not so keen on jujube, but the bread's jujube-based cream was alright. I could take that, but not the fruit which you can see in the middle. The bread was soft and had some filling inside. Um, this I would only try once (not really my thing).
Second try: scones. Again, I came late in the evening when it was pretty much sold out time. The scones came in a bag of three. They were soft and moist. I am not a fan of this second choice though. It was too buttery and too easy to stay stuck in one's mouth.
My third visit turned out to be the best one. It was around 3pm and the place was full of bread and samples to try. Ah yes, the samples! I like this concept of free tasting before deciding on which one to take home. This time, I bought a berry, walnut & cream cheese loaf. It had some sugar on top and was quite yummy.
I am just a little sad that there is no plain bread like baguette, etc. Most of what one can buy has filling and other ingredients.
