This time's food discovery involved three new things: - Misocool; - Beecrazy deals; and - Dinner in the New Territories. When I have dinner with friends, I am usually on the Kowloon side and only am I rarely in Hong Kong. So for a change and for a friend's convenience, Shatin it was.The Beecrazy deals we got were B ($62 - Spicy Hokkaido Scallop and Prawn Spaghetti + 5 Grains Latte) and C ($98 - Abalone and Mixed Veg with Half-Boiled Egg Ramen + 2x Grandma Dumplings + 5 Grains Latte) combos. Combo B:
The spaghetti meal was not too spicy, but with each bite it got spicier. This dish had delicious flavours, but the only complaint I have is that the spaghetti was not well-cooked. The inside was still hard. It was a little funny to eat spaghetti at a ramen place. Then again it is not that strange to have variety in a restaurant. Combo C:
What a nice surprise when the food arrived! I did not expect a whole abalone. I thought the abalone would probably be sliced, cut, diced...anything, but whole. All that chunkiness was awesome. D Overall, the noodles were good, the soup was nice and the half-boiled egg - actually a half of an egg - was 'well done'. The egg yolk was smooth and moist, not as dry as hard-boiled eggs. The colour was also attractive with a tint of orange in the yellow. As for the dumplings, they were almost cold. They were too soft - kind of mushy. Maybe that's why they are called "Grandma Dumplings"? Haha...just kidding. Anyhow, the probability of me ordering these as a snack is pretty low. The coffee was good and hot. With all that food and that drink - not small, one really feels full. After this copious meal, we even received coupons for next time. Too bad they are branch restricted.
