I have always liked the thick and dense texture of Godiva soft serve, so I had high expectations for the famed Dalloyau's soft serve. It might have delighted others, but to me, it was a disappointment. Black truffle and chocolate simply didn't go well. All that the taste of black truffle conjured up was it being served alongside savoury dishes such as fries. With ice cream it just didn't taste right. I regret the $50 I spent on it. On a positive note, the waffle cone was thin and crispy, while the form, texture and consistency was dense and smooth, not dissimilar to that of Godiva.
You could taste the quality of ingredients in the ice cream. However black truffle and chocolate together just isn't a good idea; in my view, anyway.
I also had a macaroon, $24,...not bad, quite average.
