After the warmest summer since records began, we finally have a cool spell. For me, thats time to feed on the great soup noodles without getting completely soaked in sweat! 2pm on a weekday and the restaurant was packed. That’s a great sign in hk! As I entered, the smell of sichuan peppercorn, cumin, and fresh goat stimulated my salivary glands. I knew I was ready for a feast. Goat, lamb, mutton all have the same Chinese character. My travels to guizhou has taught me this is most likely goat. I

As I entered, the smell of sichuan peppercorn, cumin, and fresh goat stimulated my salivary glands. I knew I was ready for a feast. Goat, lamb, mutton all have the same Chinese character. My travels to guizhou has taught me this is most likely goat. I ordered a bowl of goat mixian (fun) for 48hkd (2022 price) . This was perhaps the best tasting goat I’ve had in Hong Kong. I am used to being fed foul smelling lamb in hk eateries, but this was actually good. I grew up in the Cumbrian hillsides eating lamb henry, and being an annoying grumpy Brit, naturally I have an opinion on things. However, This place was good. The meat I was served was quality, the goat/lamb broth was fragrant with spices and fresh coriander. Excellent value, not a bad environment considering mong kok, and a tasty bowl.
