This year, instead of having a romantic dinner on Christmas Eve, I booked a table at this restaurant. My boyfriend really wants to try this type of steam hotpot so I finally went there with him. I called them a week ago because I know it will be very busy on Christmas Eve. When we got there, the place was half-packed. I called them a week ago because I know it will be very busy on Christmas Eve. When we got there, the place was half-packed. The staff gave us the menu and told us to order either a soup or congee first so we quickly chose to get the pork rib congee. The staff then suggested a few things for us to order, we looked around and saw that most of the table ordered a big platter of seafood so we got the seafood platter as well as a plate of angus beef.

The seafood platter arrived within a minute, the staff helped us to scatter the lettuce on the tray and then placed the scallops on them. He also put some mashed garlic on top of the scallop for extra flavour. He then put the lid on and started the timer; he explained to us that each type of seafood need different amount of time to cook so in order to cook them perfectly, it's best to use the timer.

The scallops were very tasty. They were easy to take out and soft to chew. The garlic certainly helped to lift up the flavour. I could also taste the freshness of the scallop.

Next were the shrimps, they were fresh because they were still moving when the staff put them in the pot. The shrimps were meaty and soft, I could taste some sweetness with it.

The clams were cooked with the abalone. The clams were fatty and fresh. They were a bit hard to take out but easy to chew. The abalone was soft and chewy, I could taste the freshness so I didn't dip it into any sauce.

The crab was big and had lots of roe!!!!! They were so yummy, It wasn't salty at all. The crab was also very meaty and sweet. The only problem was that the shell was quite hard to break apart.

It was my first time to eat steam beef, I didn't had high hope but to my surprise, they were quite tasty. They were so tender and juicy, I enjoyed eating them.

The only thing I was very disappointed was the small clam, they were super salty! I didn't enjoy them at all, it felt like eating a teaspoon of salt each time I had one.

To finish up, the staff lifted up the tray and we could see the congee. It smell so nice. The congee absorb all the juice from the seafood therefore the congee had a strong mixture of seafood flavour. It was very thick and tasty.

I really enjoyed the dinner and will take my parents there.
