Only restaurant on the promenade I hadn't tried, so I decided to check it out with a friend of mine visiting from Singapore. Got seated, nice place, though people can smoke outside and the smoke wafts into the 'indoor' section. Problem of all semi-outdoor places though. Got seated, nice place, though people can smoke outside and the smoke wafts into the 'indoor' section. Problem of all semi-outdoor places though.
I ordered an onion soup, and a Mushroom burger which came with "fries and salad". When I ordered the burger they asked how I would like it. This surprised me a bit. In the US, restaurants never let you choose because they're worried you might get sick and sue them for food poisioning. To be on the safe side, I asked for it medium. Rare and Medium rare would have been just plain irresponsible.
Soup came. Mm. Good. a little on the salty side, but I've been having a cold so I don't mind a bit more salt.
Burger arrived, very big puffy bun, stacked up real high. Looking at it...I thought. . . "Where's the salad?" The waitress politely responded with 'it's in the burger'. So apparently the shredded lettuce in the burger was the salad.
Halfway through the delicious and juicy burger, probably one of the best I've had in the last few months, I realized there weren't any mushrooms! I asked the waitress and she said "oh it's mushroom sauce"
Either their menu is misleading, or they make excuses for leaving things out of the dish. I didn't really mind as the burger itself was fine, but others may be dismayed at the misleading menu.
Despite me ordering a Mushroom burger with fries and salad, I didn't get mushrooms or salad which I thought a tad strange.
My friend got a Spaghetti Carbonara, and that came in a gigantic bowl. Really good value, and he had no complaints about the dish.
They didn't refill water as often as I would have liked though. Staff are pleasant, but slightly not attentive enough.
題外話/補充資料：
Dogs! I love dogs! and people had their dogs outside, and inside the restaurant!
