This review is based upon NUMEROUS visits to this restaurant both for lunch and dinner.

Located on the 2nd floor (best to walk up the elevator is a bit iffy) on a non-descript multi-use building. It looks dingy and grey as you enter. However, the restaurant is quite large and nicely illuminated. They offer a classic lunch time buffet for HK$90 (review below) and in the evening live Indian music.

Lunch Buffet
My favorite and a great deal at HK$90. You'll be presented with a freshly made dosi filled with potato and two lovely sauces (shredded coconut is one). The starter area has a nice assortment of hot vegetarian offerings, typically a samosa along with chicken and fish tika. Sadly, I'm not a fan of the fish tika, too fishy for my tastes).

In the middle is a series of cold starters, papadums and salads as well as a variety of sauces and condiments to choose from. My fav here is a cold chick pea dish with a light white sauce of unknown origin (in a good way).

The hot dishes are numerous and always include a variety of meat (chicken & lamb), vegetarian and lentils as well. I have my favorites here (all of the paneer dishes are excellent.

Finally, there is generally one dessert offering on tap of Indian origin, sometimes hot and sometimes cold, I must say I've never been disappointed with any of these. They also offer freshly sliced fruit for those wanting something a little lighter.

A big basket of any variety naan is offered as well with your meal and you'll likely roll out of there stuffed so go hungry.

Dinner
The dishes you see on tap for the buffet are obviously available as dinner mains. Dinner tends to be a slower affair and I know on weekends they have live Indian music. It makes for a nice evening and the restaurant seems to attract a nice mixed audience of adverturesome HK'ers, Westerns and local/traveling Indians as well.

My favorite evening dish is the starter chicken tikka, as with most places it comes sizzling to your table with onions. This is a classic Indian dish, however they seem to do a particularly good job as the chicken (often tough in HK) is tender and nicely flavoured.

Service
If there is a let down, it's service. This is a huge problem with all restaurants in HK. Staff turn over is rampant as jobs are plentiful and lack of tipping culture makes it difficult to inspire staff. Having said that Tandoori Nights seems to have a fairly constant staff (with my many visits they know me now).

The service is good, but a bit laid back. The restaurant is also somewhat large so staff can stretched when operating at capacity. Having said that I've mostly had good service

Overall this is my A++++ place in HK for Indian cuisine.
