After I placed my order at another restaurant on Wood Road, I saw Yu Chu Jian Bing across the street and remembered reading good OpenRice reviews on their jian bings!
I know my brother likes Peking duck, so I decided to get a Beijing Roast Duck Jian Bing to share with him. I placed my order and while waiting, I watched the chef make the 2 orders that were placed before mine.
Then, I got the bad news! The cashier who took my order told me that they just ran out of duck! So, I stood there not being able to make up my mind as I stared at the menu! Then, I made the odd request of whether they can make the jian bing just substituting the duck with the spicy chicken, and they said yes! The cashier was apologizing non-stop and gave me back $4 which was the price difference between the chicken and duck jian bings and also gave me a complimentary bottle of soybean milk!

Although they ran out of the roast duck for our jian bing, the shop definitely went above and beyond to compensate for it, and I would go back again and hope that they don't run out of roast duck next time!
