Food is normal as expected from an afternoon tea set. My friend asked about the scones. Frankly, scone itself may not be something that I will return for...especially when you've been to Mandarin Oriental/ InterContinental for their unbeatable scones (Absolutely amazing)!
However, one thing I like about is that other than the usual clotted cream, the scones also come with the rose jam that perfectly fits in Madame Fu's March's pink theme and the complimentary rosy pink drinks we had yesterday for celebrating the International Woman's Day.
Cheesecake served in a tea set is typically oversweet but this strawberry cheesecake with almond crumble is just perfectly right. Frosted choux pastry filled with raspberry creme is another delight that gives us a fresh and intense fruity taste. Deep-fried sesame ball is a definitely tempting and surprising pick – (spoiler) sweet potato paste as the filling!!
What I am upset about is that they gave us three complimentary drinks but we have four persons at the table. That's probably because we ordered three tea sets in total…but it's just a drink…and it's obviously diluted which we didn't finish in the end.
I appreciate the services provided too. Gordon is a welcoming and funny staff who shows attentiveness and readiness to serve~
Depending on your preferences, both sitting indoor and outdoor are equally fantastic. I'd recommend you to check the interior photos before making a request at your booking! (I'd sit indoor if it's showering despite the tables are sheltered).
Overall speaking, it's a lovely, sumptuous afternoon tea that deserves us to pay a visit despite our recent intense fight with coronavirus
