This was my 3rd time having dinner @ Mijas and I still enjoy my time there. The food is still good (not exceptional yet above average) and the ambience is phenomenal. We were lucky that the weather was nice that evening albeit it rained heavily in the afternoon. We picked the patio seating with the lovely view facing the Stanley beach, the sky was very clear after the heavy rain and the temperature was quite cool though not chilly. Therefore, everything just turned out to be perfect. We order
We ordered 4 dishes:
1) Sardine with special homemade tomato sauce ($60) – 3 lovely pieces of fish grilled to perfection, crispy outside & juicy inside
2) Giant clams in white wine sauce ($95) – I love clams so basically I have no complaint to this dish
3) Mushroom pasta in creamy truffle sauce ($160) – it’s tasty yet I found it a bit too heavy due to the butter cream sauce…my mistake coz I thought they will use olive oil instead…anyhow, it’s very nicely done
4) Ox tail with barley stuffing in cream sauce ($185) – We decided to try this one coz we wanna tried something different than always ordering the Prime rib eye, waygu beef, etc…it turned out that we have made a right choice, the ox tail was very tender and I just love the veggie on the side
5) A half bottle of Haut Medoc red ($310) – too bad that we couldn’t drink too much coz we drove, darn!
Remark: Mijas hire 3 Pilipino singers, they will drop by each table to sing 2-3 songs of your choice…somehow this just remind me of Sabatini…those were the days…
