I was surprised to find that it wasn't difficult to fetch a table slightly after 1300 on a Tuesday, thought I would have bumped into the weekday office lunch crowd. In fact the place was ½ empty. I wondered if that's the reason for the spontaneous service we got albeit its self served nature when we asked for a table closer the windows to be cleaned. Regardless, service is another check.

We ordered straight vege dishes: corn cob, cauliflower and potato brick; and went with vitamin water and their signature hot choco for drinks. For the pudding, we opted for the infamous caramel parfait and peanut butter cheese cake.

Hot orange choco - supposed to be their signature drink? Tasted really weird. They let you melt your own choco bar with a bottle of hot milk with syrup on the side to make the drink, but the output became like warm after the mixing. I can't bear with the mug of not hot and not cold, somewhere-in-the-middle pool of light brown liquid. Couldn't taste much orange but coffee instead. Was it my palate?

Vitamin water with pineapple, watermelon and guava - now this is the description on the menu. However, all I could taste and see was pineapple and basil. In any case, it tasted refreshing, BUT the pretty paper straw couldn't withstand much of the sucking action. It started to peel after the first few sucks which admittedly were pretty hard as I struggled to clear the blockages created by the fruit bits at the other end.

Elote - i.e. grilled corn cob with chile and cheese is pretty to look at, good to eat too, but difficult to handle. The kernels flew all over the place when I tried to cut them away from the core.

Caramelized cauliflower - I think the florets were grilled to a bit burnt then cooked in sugar cane and shallots to caramelised. Not sure though if the chef had done it the intended way by allowing the vege to sit in a pool of sweet soup?! Far too sweet to handle.

Potato block - it's a block of grilled potato atop with a mammothic helping of truffle cheese cream - too heavy to handle. I'd prefer truffle fries, at least I could enjoy crispiness by the mouthful.

Caramel parfait - very pretty presentation indeed. The parfait has bits of berries, virus and crispy caramel mixed in. Taste can pass for what you would expect a parfait would taste.

Cheesy peanut butter pie - taste is actually ok with a crunchy base and chewy filling with the peanut bits. I'd expected crispy marshmallows but they were not.

One other comment about the setting. Most air con outlets sit directly over the seats and tables, cooling the food extremely fast.
