Fairwood is one of the fast food chains that I visit most frequently, even more than Mc Donald’s, mainly because of their consistency in food quality, variety and culinary skill. Moreover, I’m quite surprised to find a couple of times that at normal dining hours (say at 12:30pm for lunch) some of their staff are also having their meals with other diners given that the venue is not full. This really sets a good example of how to be good employers in treating their employees with higher rights than many other owners in the town.

Today for lunch, I spot a new item on the menu which was worth sharing with you.

a) Beef, Tomato and Potato with Rice in Soup ($34) – 8.7/10

In Hong Kong, rice with soup is a welcome dish during Summer in either local eateries or yum-cha in Chinese restaurants. They are usually served in separate containers for diners to mix them when eating so as to avoid over soaking of rice in the soup.

For the one that I ordered, tomato soup is my liking in particular. The soup based was made with tomatoes, potatoes and onion.

The beef brisket was slow cooked for hours that made it very tender on every bite. I would say it was cooked so well that it even beat some of the beef brisket specialized eateries in the town. Mixed vegetables such as loofah, Chinese mushrooms and drumstick mushrooms were also added. Both the quantity and quality was consistent as I had it twice on different days and the servings were very much the same.
