It's my b-day and my wife got me this cake from Tony Wong.I was initially a bit put off by the handwriting on the chocolate plaque -- does any patisser write well these days? I mean at least he/she can centre the words better, maybe? The cake itself is very tasty, has a strong taste of quality Matcha green tea. Definitely a grown-up taste as it's not that sweet at all. I personally think the dark chocolate covers up quite a bit of the green tea taste and would prefer it made with white chocolate

I was initially a bit put off by the handwriting on the chocolate plaque -- does any patisser write well these days? I mean at least he/she can centre the words better, maybe? The cake itself is very tasty, has a strong taste of quality Matcha green tea. Definitely a grown-up taste as it's not that sweet at all. I personally think the dark chocolate covers up quite a bit of the green tea taste and would prefer it made with white chocolate instead. But my wife was very happy with it. So, i think it's just me. The cake is beautifully decorated with green tea powder, icing sugar and some artsy green tea chocolate lines alll over. Even the ganache that they used to fix the cake on the card board tastes like really expensive chocolate. Those three mini marcarons on top -- absolutely a highlight. They should sell them separately: chewy, moist with very tasty green tea custard. They taste better than those from Paul Lafayette, IMO.

All in all, meticulously made (except the handwriting, sorry), good value and tasty.
