Stepping into the Japanese-style izakaya restaurant, I was immediately transported to the vibrant streets of Tokyo. The ambience was lively the decor was a mix of traditional and modern, with wooden tables and chairs, and a sleek bar.Our first dish was the Tsukune, which are Japanese-style meatballs made with minced chicken. Our first dish was the Tsukune, which are Japanese-style meatballs made with minced chicken. The presentation was simple, yet elegant, with the golden-brown meatballs placed on a bed of fresh leaf. The texture of the meatballs was soft and juicy, with a subtle sweetness balanced by the savory soy-based sauce. The raw egg yolk added a smooth and rich touch to the dish.
Next, we tried the grilled chicken wings on a stick, the wings were cooked to perfection, with crispy skin and tender meat that fell off the bone.
For our main course, we ordered the Spanish Iberico pork loin rack, The pork loin was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, with a crispy exterior and a juicy, tender interior. The meat was full of flavour, with a nutty sweetness enhanced by the grill’s smoky char.
The pan-fried Japanese mixed veggies were colourful and comforting.
We also tried the fried squid lips, a unique and adventurous dish. The lips were battered and deep-fried to a crispy golden brown, with a slightly chewy texture reminiscent of calamari. The dish was served with a side of spicy mayo, which added a tangy kick that balanced the richness of the lips.
The Aji sashimi was a thinly sliced raw horse mackerel. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a delicate texture and a subtle sweetness enhanced by a touch of soy sauce and wasabi. The dish was beautifully presented, with the fish arranged in a delicate pattern almost too pretty to eat.
Finally, we enjoyed the grilled pineapple with caramel was a surprising twist on a classic dessert. The pineapple was perfectly grilled, with a charred exterior that added a smoky flavour to the sweet fruit. The caramel sauce was thick and rich, with a hint of bitterness that balanced the sweetness of the pineapple. It was a unique and delicious dessert that we would highly recommend.
Overall, our experience at the Japanese-style izakaya restaurant was fantastic. The dishes were expertly prepared, with bold flavours and beautiful presentation. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience.
