We had a most horrible dining experience at Prohibition. Ordered a filet. It was served lukewarm served on what looks like a hot plate but it was not. It didn’t come with any side at all. The meat was far from being tender despite we ordered it to be medium rare. What is worst is that it is extremely salty that renders it inedible. We ordered a side of blue cheese. We were told that it is in a liquid state and kind of molten. It ended up it was not. It just looks like a pathetic cut from a block
Ordered a filet. It was served lukewarm served on what looks like a hot plate but it was not. It didn’t come with any side at all. The meat was far from being tender despite we ordered it to be medium rare. What is worst is that it is extremely salty that renders it inedible.
We ordered a side of blue cheese. We were told that it is in a liquid state and kind of molten. It ended up it was not. It just looks like a pathetic cut from a block of cheese that they got at a cheap supermarket.
And to our utter surprise they could even screw up the kale salad. Again it was extremely salty that we could not even finish.
The waiter Jeffery was nice enough. We told him it’s not his fault but the kitchen’s.
We ended up having to pay for a meal that we didn’t enjoy one bit, let alone finish.
All in all it’s really worse than a off the street steakhouse and you wouldn’t expect this kind of standard from a hotel.
My two cents are:
1. Don’t open the restaurant when you are not even ready.
2. Have your chef taste the dishes before serving.
3. If the chef has already tasted the dishes, he seriously has a taste bud issue.
4. The waiters are trying very hard but the manager didn’t even come to try to understand what is going on when we have made it clear that every dish was problematic.
I do hope it has to deal with the lack of experience and give it time this place will be better. It’s a huge shame if they keep this standard as after all the ambience there is really nice.
