I had just started driving in Hong Kong when my friend asked me to pick her up at Shatin after work. I took on the challenge, but since I was still scared of parking I asked her if we could have dinner at New Town Plaza since it’s always easier to park in an actual parking lot lol. There are many restaurants in the mall, and one of the higher rated ones was Bo-lo’gne (ugh such an annoying name to type) so we decided to give it a try.We made a reservation for 6:30 but that was unnecessary as the r
There are many restaurants in the mall, and one of the higher rated ones was Bo-lo’gne (ugh such an annoying name to type) so we decided to give it a try.
We made a reservation for 6:30 but that was unnecessary as the restaurant was nearly empty.
Their vegetable soup came with two pieces of their famous Danish Bread
-However the toasted danish bread was SO good. It’s light, buttery and crusty. I wish they could give me more pieces T_T I could eat half a loaf!
Then came my main, the Black Truffle Salmon on Spaghetti
-The spaghetti was extremely bland and dry. It tasted like they’ve just simply cooked the pasta in water, drained it and doused it in truffle oil. I couldn’t finish it without adding some tabasco!
My friend’s Scallop with Truffle Risotto was even worse. The scallops had a super weird rubbery texture that did not resemble scallops at all. Worst of all, their definition of risotto was mixing steamed rice with white sauce. It was DISGUSTING!
And yes, this place isn’t cheap. We had to pay $170 per person!
