Environment/Decor & Hygiene:
This place had a comfy environment because the ceiling was so high and made the place feel so roomy. I liked the big chalkboards on the one side of the wall and the interestingly arranged photos on the other side. Even the washroom had some beautiful looking wallpaper as you can see below. In terms of hygiene, everything seemed okay~ Service:
Service was okay. Our food came out quickly. The staff did come around our tables filling our cups at first, but then they stopped and didn't come back until we were almost done our meals.
Taste & Value:
At first, I was gonna order the portabello veggie burger, but changed my mind when I saw the croque madame! Croque Madame ($108)- This was hands down the best Croque Madame I have ever had in my life so far! Every bite was packed with ham, cheese and beautifully grilled bread. I thought the last one I had in Canada was good, but this was just the best. It had just enough béchamel sauce, so that the ham and the Gruyère cheese ( I'm pretty sure it was this instead of Emmental cheese) were the stars. It was amazing that the bread stayed toasted and didn't get soggy at all! Also, I liked that the fried egg on top wasn't too runny that my plate was flooded in egg yolk when I had to cut through it. The fries on the side were very good as well. I was very satisfied with my choice! There was no doubt that the ingredients used were fresh and had quality. Salmon & Cod Burger ($130)- Both my sister and I were more interested in this seafood burger than the veggie burger so we decided to try this instead! The patty was quite dry and wasn't as amazing as the Croque Madame, but because the fish tasted so fresh, it wasn't possible to be bad. The pickled salad on the patty went perfectly with the fish patty. Sour stuff is always nice with seafood eh? Ha. This burger also came with fries. Final Verdict:
The Croque Madame really was very good, so I would love to go for it again!
