I must say I find one of the recent reviews extremely unfair for calling the staff at Rosie Jean's Cafe "not very friendly" and criticizing them for bad service.First of all, I think some people don't realize that it's a semi-self service cafe - there's actually a sign at the cashier that says "no service" for the outdoor terrace. First of all, I think some people don't realize that it's a semi-self service cafe - there's actually a sign at the cashier that says "no service" for the outdoor terrace. (Nevertheless, the staff is usually kind enough to bring customers their food outdoors anyway.)
I've been a regular customer of Rosie Jean's for over a year now, and they have ALWAYS been most kind and attentive. My four-year-old son loves going there too, especially on weekends when the outdoor playground is open. The staff is always exceptionally accommodating and kind to the children!
As for the food, the menu is slightly on the pricey side, but the food is good with generous portions. They serve excellent coffee too. Also, they have a wonderful kids menu with bite-sized baby pancakes with banana and maple syrup, and beautifully made baby-ccinos with marshmallows.
If you're looking for a five-star fine-dining experience with waiters and waitresses who greet you with phoney smiles, you should go elsewhere. But if you want to have a relaxing time and like sitting outdoors in the open air, this is the perfect place to go...
I especially recommend Rosie Jean's Cafe to anyone with children who want to chill with family/friends over brunch or tea while your kids have fun in the playground!
