I had several of the pistachio cakes and tiramisù from Domie this week, thanks to a good friend who, knowing that I'm in love with pistachio, got them for me.The pistachio cake is carefully layered--starting from a flakey and cakey base to a crispier biscuit layer, then a thick layer of green pistachio cream with a sprinkle of gelatin and plenty of heavy cream, and finally, a thin layer of unsweetened cream and a handful of chopped pistachios on top. Tiramisù was somewhat of a disappointment. I guess the competition out there is greater. It was slightly too mushy, lacked the lightness of authentic tiramisù, and without being layered it was a bit off flavor-wise. But, if I wasn't expecting tiramisù, this would have been just alright.
