A 'dream comes true' dissolves into a 'living nightmare'. I loved the notion of having an 'all British roast pub and British draft beer on tap' pub to go to regularly on a Sunday. I put the 'sorry no treacle sponge' and '4 of the 6 beers not being available' down to teething problems on the first 5 occasions. ( I was deluding myself). I went there for a roast last Sunday and was met by a chief barwoman/waitress/positively scary woman of Eastern European descent. She was not only shouting at all

A 'dream comes true' dissolves into a 'living nightmare'. I loved the notion of having an 'all British roast pub and British draft beer on tap' pub to go to regularly on a Sunday. I put the 'sorry no treacle sponge' and '4 of the 6 beers not being available' down to teething problems on the first 5 occasions. ( I was deluding myself). I went there for a roast last Sunday and was met by a chief barwoman/waitress/positively scary woman of Eastern European descent. She was not only shouting at all the staff, but the boss too...and he was taken it without complaint. My roast pork and apple crumble from ordering it to finishing it took 3 hours exactly (no, I am not a slow eater). In the meantime, she shouted and remonstrated with all staff and customers, and told me, in no uncertain terms, a mere 45 minutes after ordering, 'No roast potatoes, may be no roast pork, and no treacle sponge'(without any form of apology). It had to be the worst service I had ever experienced (no exaggeration), and the fact it took an hour to me to reach this place just made it worse, if possible. I couldn't wait to get a taxi back to get away from the place. How can this place survive? I even recommended my friends to go (in the not-too-distant past), get the business going, give it a chance - Not any more! What a twat, I look now! Good riddance to this disaster of a "restaurant"! Dreadful, dreadful place! 'The Pits' is a more apt name.
