This restaurant (more of a snack shop / hole in the wall deli) has the name in Chinese but with help from my Beijing tutor the English name is literally - Zheng Zong (Original) Yunnan, Guizhou & Sichuan Cai (Flavours). I'm new to HK but I've fallen in live with Sichuan. I've made it my mission to eat at as many Sichuan restaurants as I can while in HK (as well as a visit to Beijing). I can say that this restaurant is best for sheer taste so far every time. Their signature dish of Mouthwaterin

Their signature dish of Mouthwatering Chicken is completely that. You can buy it either as a whole ($120), half ($65) or normal ($42) or you can go for their set lunch of a starter bowl of noodle soup (3 types of noodles - Rice Vermicelli, Red Potato Noodles or Shanghai Noodles) in a broth of Chicken soup that can be either - Hot, Hot & Spicy or Hot & Sour. If you buy it this way they give you the normal portion of Mouth Watering Chicken for a grand total of $36 for both. Amazing value for money!! That aside, the flavour of the Mouth Watering Chicken is poached (Hainan style) cold chicken pieces with skin on in a sauce of Sichuan spice and black vinegar. Herbs and peanuts / soy beans on top. This is on a bed of sprouted soy beans so you get the crunch and the spice all together. Very nice!!

Another stand out for me is the Hot & Sour Potato ($24). I have tried about 4 different variants of this classic dish and theirs is the best because it combines hunks of garlic, chilli, herbs and vinegar in real harmony and balance. The portion is also generous. The potatoes are still crisp and not soggy.

Next visit I will be sampling the Green Bean Vermicelli Salad ($24) and the Hot & Spicy fish ($45) and if I can fit it in (maybe I'd better take a partner) I will also have the Fish Tofu ($35) and Poached Green vegetables ($15), so will let you know how that goes.

With regard to service, it is mainly a female run place. The only male I could see is actually the chef. They are all very friendly and maybe a little amused at seeing me a gwaipor so obviously enjoying their cuisine. They are very helpful with my selections. Although little English is spoken the menus are well translated.
