Hometown Dumpling is a very unassuming Chinese restaurant serving up handmade dumplings, "northern-style" noodles and rice dishes. Family owned and run, they seem to have a no-nonsence way of serving up some of Hong Kong's Chinese food. The restarant decor is basic but clean and brightly lit, no elaborate menu or gimmicks. My food picks are pretty much everything on the menu but honourable mentions for the pork & chive dumplings, fish dumplings and the lamb and spring onion stir-fry. Good hearty portions, very delicous and very well priced at under $50 per dish. I don't think I've come across a better place for dumplings. Undeniably the best in the Western District.
Customer service is also good and certainly has a family owned feel about it.
